Help please - terrified and alone

Hi, I suffered from IBS when I was younger really badly. Then it kinda went and only popped up occasionally.

Now, I had a reflux episode that led to a barium swallow. Since then I have been really unwell. loose stools, constipation, abdominal pain etc. Doctor checked me out and prescribed mebeverine and to stay on the acid tablets but a lower dose as the barium result was normal. That was October. Recently I was back at the doctors and mentioned a pain in my right side, she felt my stomach and thought she felt a mass. Possibly constipation so no real worry, but 1 week later I saw her again as she hadn’t sent my prescription the previous week as she said she would. She wanted to check my stomach again, but this time she felt something but said it had moved towards my belly button area and had gone down / reduced in size. My CR protein levels are high, but have been since 2014. She’s now sending me for a CT scan and I’m freaking out. Still paid, sore and tender to touch in my right side near my belly button but a bit lower. Has anyone heard of anything like this?

I haven’t but there’s nothing to be gained from getting stressed and the stress could make your IBS worse. Try (and I say try, it isn’t easy!) to destress as worrying about things isn’t going to help.

Hi, don't worry too much, I get pain in that area all the time, these days. When I was IBS(D) I always had pain on the left side, but as I have got older the consistency has changed and it's more IBS(M or A) now and it has gradually moved to the right hand side as well. Funnily enough it seems to alternate on a daily basis, ie left side one day and then right side the next.

Ah ok, 23. Since 2014 they have been raised (over 10) but go up and down. All my other blood tests were fine just this one raised still.

Don’t think those are same test, my daughters was 1297 calprotectin in her stool sample.

No this was a blood test for inflammation but it’s general, anywhere in the body.
