any way to increase ferritin without increasing iron saturation?
after two months of taking
iron
supplements (75mg every other night on empty stomach), my ferritin rose from 51 to 158. Unfortunately, my
iron
saturation rose from 46% to 59%. This is caused by fairly high
iron
(172) and fairly low transferrin (291), though both are within normal range.

low iron and tremor
Anyway, I checked with Google and low
iron
can cause tremors so I hope this is what is wrong and I will supplement with
iron
tablets for a month and see how I get on. Anyone else got any ideas why my levels are so low given I eat meat.

I am assuming that
iron
pills are not working for her therefore doctor stopped the
iron
pill for her. Any advice would be great for me.

Timings of NDT and iron supplements
The only way I can achieve this is if I squeeze in extra doses by reducing the time between NDT and
iron
, which would mean a three hour gap rather than the recommended 4 hours.

We proceeded with another infusion and my labs just came back as follows: under a heading of “
iron
& TIBC”: TIBC low 252, UIBC low 86,
iron

iron
saturation high 66. Then a separate heading “transferrin saturation” shows
iron

NAC and Thyroid Antibodies
What other supplements do you take to support thyroid health besides vit D,
iron
, B12, Folate? These are already under control and at good levels. Selenium? Iodine? Thanks!

Taking Vitamin C
This might seem a daft question but I need to increase my
iron
& read I should take it with 100mg of VitC. How do I take 100mg of VitC? All the tablets are 1000mg. The average tangerine is 50mg & not what I’d choose to eat at night. Do I buy a VitC powder?

Iron blood test results are back, please could you take a look for me?
In a previous post I gave my Ferritin result from a blood test in March (this was 36.90) and I was recommended to check my other
iron
levels before taking
iron
supplements .

GPs! Lack of knowledge.
I take Ropinirole 4mg and 210mg
iron
tablets to try and raise Ferritin. The GP keep stating that my levels are normal and there was very little she could do or suggest…her knowledge was very limited. How would you continue this conversation with her? I was in tears on the phone.

Iron panel values - average and RLS indicated.
IMPORTANT: to obtain accurate baseline numbers, morning fasting is required for an
iron
test of all four parameters (also called an '
iron
panel'). SOURCE: Johns Hopkins University and Medical Center and The Mayo Clinic

Iron infusions
These are her blood test results, showing low saturation and high total
iron
binding capacity. She is on gabapentin and Ropinirole and Tylenol 3, with no relief. She has CHF with water retention. Ehat are your thoughts on
iron
infusions ? Are they dangerous? She sees her doctor next week.

Low iron, supplementing with 3 Arrows
Hi everyone, I posted about a week ago after having
iron
studies done through the NHS, it came back that I wasn’t
iron
deficient enough to be treated by a doctor, but my levels were definitely low enough to start treatment since I’m already experiencing symptoms and don’t want to get worse…..

Thank you
I did wonder recently what my
iron
level was like now as it has been sometime since l had it checked. It was very good at 200 but of course it can go down. I asked my doctor for a blood test explaining the reason but was refused.

Iron levels and huge TSH drop
My
iron
is only just in range, so would it be ok to take
iron
supplements as well as dietary additions (chicken liver pate etc)? The doctor has prescribed 200mg ferrous sulfate. What are people's feelings on this type of
iron
? Would an
iron
supplement such as
iron
bisglycinate be better? 2.

Folate timing
I take it 30 mins to an hour after, but I’m not sure if it’s like
iron
and should be several hours apart. Many thanks for your help.
