Potential adverse effects of long-term venesection used to treat PV.
Iron
overload: While
iron
deficiency is a common consequence of phlebotomy, in some individuals, it's possible to develop
iron
overload. This occurs when
iron
is absorbed more efficiently than it is removed from the body.

My anxiety is stopping me from doing something that will help me. How do I power on through this?
I have chronically low
iron
, my Dr has prescribed a hormonal pill and an
iron
transfusion. Two things that terrify me for different reasons. I want to be able to go with the flow, but I can’t. I’ve asked about alternatives, this is my only option left. I’ve used my alternatives already.

**SENSITIVE, HOPE & FAITH **
- Low
iron
and had to 250g
iron
supplements The above also put me in the category of developing pre-eclampsia which thankfully I didn't. I had more appointments in triage than scans as I was always scared and worried, so I kept going to hear babys hearbeat.

TSH extremely low but low-ish free T3 and free T4
I have a form of blood cancer so am unable to take b12 and
iron
. However my vit d is very good and I follow the suggested supplements required. Selenium magnesium etc etc, as advise by Dr wentz thyroid pharmacist. Weight gain it's getting out of control alongside severe constipation!

My visit to the Neurologist in the UK
Also noted was slightly low serum
iron
of 10.9umol/L but transferrin saturation and ferritin were normal. No values for these were given in the letter. The advice from the “movement specialist” was to continue on the Ropinirole at present but suggested rotigotine patch as an alternative.

looking for tips
I’ve done calcium/magnesium,
iron
supplements taken with orange juice, stretching, hot baths before bed, mirapex and lyrica. It’s daily and nothing helps. Looking for avenues that I’ve never tried. And yes, light exercise in the evening.

Medication for subclinical hypothyroidism
I've ruled out celiac disease, I'm trying to take
iron
and b12 everyday, but still my tsh is consistently high. My GP has agreed to trial 25mg levothyroxine. I'm really worried after reading how this can potentially make everything worse.

Jump in Haematocritt
Haematologist wouldn't give me
iron
tablets as last time hematocrit jumped uo so fast apparently put me at risk of a stroke. Last blood test a month ago Haemoglobin 132 and Hematocrit 47%. Why it jumped up so quick after months being low and doing nothing differently, who knows.

Iron every or ever other night?
I'm loathe to increase my
iron
too much, I hate the way it messes up my guts, but I'm now considering taking it every night rather than every other night.I've been taking 280mg
iron
fumarate with Spatone
iron
solution (5mg). Any thoughts?
