Iron levels and huge TSH drop
My
iron
is only just in range, so would it be ok to take
iron
supplements as well as dietary additions (chicken liver pate etc)? The doctor has prescribed 200mg ferrous sulfate. What are people's feelings on this type of
iron
? Would an
iron
supplement such as
iron
bisglycinate be better? 2.

Please advise - symptoms worsening
Hi all, As you may remember from previous posts, I’m still borderline anaemic and so I increased my
iron
dosage as per instructions several weeks ago. My FT3 has also plummeted from a decade average of 6 to now 4.8 (range 3.1-6.8) I’m getting horrific migraines (they start with blinding auras).

dry eyes and mouth?
I’m grasping at straws trying to convince myself that my super dry eyes and mouth could be from one of those things (low
iron
or reversing out symptom) rather than Sjogren’s. My rheumatologist isn’t convinced it’s that, but I don’t know any other explanation. Would love your input and experience!

Optimal Ferritin: Does anyone take a maintenance dose of iron to achieve this?
Dear Forum Members, I am wondering if anyone takes a maintenance dose of
iron
to keep ferritin optimal? After reading the recommendation here for the Three Arrows supplement I am about to start taking this but would appreciate any advice you have on raising and maintaining ferritin levels.

Good news,I hope !
They have agreed that I can start to reduce the Ropinerole by 0.25 and start on 50 mg of Pregabalin while I'm still on the waiting list for the
iron
infusion. I told the GP what Sue Johnson had advised ( thank you Sue).

Could This Be Thyroid?
We thought a lot of this might be due to silent migraines and
iron
deficiency so I had an
iron
infusion in January. Since then my fatigue has only gotten worse - starting with muscles cramps and pains and progressing to joint aches which I have never had before.

found a good neurologist
He suggested a blood test for haemachromatosis which is when the body stores excess
iron
which affects the liver and heart. I do have the faulty gene that means I have the condition and as it’s hereditary that I must get my immediate family checked too.

Active B12 gone down
I know that blood tests after injections are considered pointless but I had an
iron
test privately yesterday that included active B12 and my results came back as 36pmol/L (if I’ve got this right it converts to 48.7 ng/L). I’m surprised it’s not increased since injecting (I inject EOD).

Low ferritin again
It says there will be no investigation of the cause of low
iron
but if meet criteria then can pay for an
iron
infusion. £200 consultation fee plus £495 for the actual infusion. Has anyone else had success in getting an
iron
infusion privately in a similar way please?

cytomel and food
My synthroid bottle has a warning on it about not taking it with
iron
or magnesium and taking an hour away from food or drink. My cytomel doesn't have the same warning. Can I assume that food and drink don’t interfere with absorption with cytomel? Many thanks!

B12 injections causing rebound effect?
Is the injection somehow requiring my
iron
/ferritin (which is below 45), possibly causing these symptoms? It happens almost every single month, post-injection... and while I believe in coincidence, I am questioning it now. :/

New test results. Comments?
I think I should stop my
iron
tablets now? Should I keep taking complex b (Igennus) and maybe add folate on top?

dose increase?
I also had an
iron
panel done at the same time and, as per the advice of some kind people on this forum, have just started taking Three Arrows
Iron
. I am also trying to up my Vit d and folate, because these have been low for quite some time.

Ferritin and Haemoglobin levels
but it’s just been discovered, having had his
iron
checked for the first time, that his ferritin is 3000! We’re not able to speak to anyone at the hospital today but we’re quite shocked and wondered if any of you good people had any words of wisdom to offer? Many thanks, Alison

Other blood results
I now have more results Serum folate 14.3 (3.1-17.5) Ferritin 138 (13-150)
Iron
14 (5-28) B12 280 (200-940) Since they are in the range ‘everything is normal’! The coeliac one was clear so I can now try gluten free for 3 months to see if it makes any changes.

latest labs show high iron
does anyone have high
iron
due to liver disease? I had a full
iron
panel done and my serum
iron
is high normal, but but
iron
saturation is elevated and my
iron
binding capacity low.I’ve also had slightly elevated ferritin over the last couple years.

Using turmeric to lower high ferritin
It’s been over range at least two years since taking high doses of liquid ionic
iron
for very low ferritin. Sometimes it’s significantly lower than this but always over, lately Buddy’s post this morning about high dose turmeric piqued my interest and I wonder what your thoughts are.

Dry Skin & Combined Pill
I am otherwise healthy (optimal thyroid, but d,
iron
, b vits etc) and of a healthy weight, I have read there are some correlations between combined pill and dry skin? I naturally already had dry skin but it seems to be even drier on this pill.

Follow up
She said my recent testing showed my
iron
was fine so there is no reason to think my ferritin is low. She said she would have it checked if I wanted but was sure it would be fine. I decided to wait until I get off ropinorole to have it checked. I will continue with tramadol as needed.
