As you age, your kidney health does deteriorate. My mother-in-law had bad kidney function when she was in her 70's. She was 96 when she passed away from complications of COVID. She lived a long life despite having kidney issues.

Do everything you can to lower your blood pressure, stay hydrated and take the medications the doctor prescribes. You can live a long life despite your kidneys.

It is always good news when the doctor does not need to see you for 6 months.

I too have anemia, had iron infusions (which helped but really my iron levels never returned to normal). We tried the 325mg daily, but my body just did not absorb the iron. By the way if it bothers you stomach (they prefer you take it on an empty stomach) try taking it with just a couple of crackers, or what what worked for me in helping the stomach, was a couple of pretzels. Now I don't take it, but just get periodic infusions. Which isn't so bad. They only take 15 minutes, then you sit for 30 minutes to make sure no reactions.

Not what you're looking for?
