T3 Trial continued

History:

Hypothyroid (after RAI in c2004) Spent 2023 improving folate, B12, Vit D although ferritin still poor. Came off PPIs and now take Gaviscon twice daily. Gastritis issues ongoing though. Officially a poor converter (dud DIO2) so really wanted to try T3

Gluten free diet + non meat eater - do eat fish

Dec 2023 - Trial of T3 with private endo - was on Levo 225mg before - new combined dose T3 20mg (in 2 doses) levo 150mg - this made me feel worse! T4 has dropped to 16/18 through range (max 22) and T3 is 4.1 so creeping up into range, but ferritin is only 62

Jan 2024 Review with private endo - T3 increased to 30mg (still 2 doses although I can play around to see if 3 are better, but tbh on so many meds which would make that challenging!)

March 2024 - Latest test results above - done fasting at 9am - last T3 dose 12 hours before + last T4 24 hours before

I've put in a lot of work with vitamins and minerals and pleased with results - just ferritin on the low side so I'm back on iron and seeing GP about monitoring bloods - they told me not to take iron as danger of having too much.

T4 seems low to me although T3 is creeping up. I still get some symptoms - ringing in ears (not quite so bad now though) low mood, tiredness, brain fog

I feel that it's worth increasing T4 a little and leaving T3 as it is for now - I'm seeing the private endo tomorrow evening.

Any thoughts or advice re dosage would be welcome - currently on Levo 150mcg and Liothyronine 30 mcg daily

which brand of Levo and which brand of T3

Do you normally split your T3 as 3 x 10mcg

Free T4 (fT4) 17.7 pmol/L (12 - 22) 57.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.1 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 54.1%

Yes .,….perhaps increase Levo to 162.5mcg daily

Hi SlowDragon - Accord for Levo and Thyborn Henning (?) for T3

I take 20mcg T3 with T4 1 hour before breakfast, 10mcg 30 min before dinner unless testing the next day when it's later!

I've tried splitting into 3 but take RA meds twice some days plus a shed load of supplements including iron and they all need to steer clear of thyroid meds
