Hello everyone. My dad is starting chemo in the next few weeks. Does anyone have any tips on helping mitigate side effects, etc.? Any thoughts, stories, experiences would be helpful. Thank you!

Anyone been referred for urgent TV/abdominal ultrasound from blood results?
Just wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation, to help put my mind at ease. My pain started last year and gp suspected endometriosis, had a lap done and all they found were bowel adhesions/cysts, so no endometriosis diagnosis. Surgeon said my bowel being pulled out of place was causing

I asked ChatGPT to put the following drugs in order of their metastatic prostate cancer cancer fighting properties: Metformin, statins, mebendazole, vitamin C, doxycline, Silymarin and Esomeprazole (Nexium). Here is the answer from ChatGPT: Determining the order of these drugs based on their potential

Waste of time
That was a waste of time. Waited for hospital telephone appointment. No need to take hydro tablets extra weekends. That's good. Where do I get my tablets, confused me. Dr.i said. Then he went to go. My daughter said hang on. I wanted to know about other things, but asked about PALS they don't have service

Niraparib
Hello lovely ladies I’ve been on Niraparib 200mg for about 12 weeks following carbo/ calyx for first recurrence. My bloods have kept stable which is great but I’m experiencing several irritating side effects which I want to ask if any of you have come up against. Has anyone experienced hair loss

Hello. I was diagnosed about a year ago with stage 4 prostate cancer. I was on hormone therapy but that is no longer surprising the cancer. It is in my bones, currently spreading in my pelvic bone and lumbar. I hope to start chemotherapy in the next month. But with my current health I don’t know

mCRPC end of ADT--staying the course.
My dad saw his oncologist yesterday. My sister and I were there; we both read “Being Mortal” and watched several videos on the subject. The MO brought in the PSA test and said it was time to start considering a treatment change and the next steps were chemo and there was also Pluvicto. What happened

progressed on xeloda to Doxil…some fun things that happened on the way… with pictures…
I’m Beth and I am 4 years and 4 lines into this journey with the tough stuff still ahead. I am writing today to share a bit as some here have been kind enough to ask how things are going for me knowing I was having a therapy change. What a memorable month it’s been since having a small progression

Side Effects of Herceptin and Perjeta
I had 1.5 cm local, node negative breast cancer recurrence 3.3 years after my first breast cancer diagnosis. HER2+ PR+ ER+( triple positive). I opted not to have Chemo, but did have targeted therapy for the HER2+ cancer, Herceptin and Perjeta subcutaneous injections for a year. The worst constant side

4th of July Memories
I remember my sister Adrienne's last 4th of July in 2001. She had undergone only two rounds of chemotherapy and had already lost 18 pounds in six weeks (12.5% of her body weight). Here's an excerpt from my book [i]

Low haemoglobin/bacteria infection
Hey everyone, hope we are all well. I am a regular on here and thank everyone who has took the time to comment on my previous posts. Firstly, my mum has agreed to radiotherapy and is going for the 20 sessions. She is determined to face this head on.... On another note, since chemo, mum has been really

General health (also not bad for PC): a fasting-mimicking diet reduce insulin resistance, liver fat, immune system aging, and biological age
I applied that during chemo, starting 72 hours before and ending 48 hours after the chemo infusion, there are clinical trials also using it in combination with chemo, the principle is, in a nutshell, when you are fasting healthy cells go in "hibernation" while cancer cells cannot do that, so the chemo
