Interferon vs viral drugs - side effects/ experiences/impact on every day life
Hi all My consultant asked me to choose if I wish to start injections (interferons) or tablets (viral drugs). Information online is overwhelming. I would like to hear some real life experiences and how you coped with the side-effects/ changes you had to make to your life-style etc. Thank you

Travel with Interferon plus other things
I was diagnosed with CALR ET two years ago and was on Hydroxrea and the last 6 weeks have been on Pegasys. I have a couple of queries: When you travel with the injections and they need to be kept cool how have you done this? Someone suggested a small car fridge, someone else said a cool bag with ice

First Treatment of Peg
I had no initial reaction to the
interferon
jab, and after 30 mins of sitting in the clinic I left feeling nicely stoned. Within about 20 mins I was really hot but this subsided and I reached home in good form. I’ve had some side effects mostly slow coming on.

I'm new here, Interferon and ear ringing (ototoxicity)?
As some research points to superiority of
Interferon
in terms of disease progression I've tried Pegintron (90mcg) right after diagnosis and tried it another time (this time Roferon-A 3x3) last week.

Interferon/Pegasys
pid=205&lang=en&sid=1206 Too many to watch all of them but the third from the bottom, Panel Discussion with Dr Verstovsek, was excellent If you are on
Interferon
/Peginteferon or thinking about starting, I’d strongly recommend you watch.

I phoned the nurse regarding treatment and she put our minds at ease by telling us that the letter reads
interferon
free medication, which means they won’t be giving that but epclusa, feeling scared but going in on Tuesday to hopefully get treatment, hope it works as thoughts keep going through my head

Pegasys blood results
Pegasys/
Interferon
really split opinions into those who swear by it and those who suffer unpleasant side effects. So far I’m delighted with it. As others have said, anyone starting Pegasys should, if possible, try a low dose and increase as necessary. Need to build up tolerance.

Medications that can affect thyroid function
Those are: lithium, amiodarone, fluoride, HRT/estrogen, Proton Pump Inhibitors,
Interferon
, Accutane, Iodine (excess), Botox. I have previously heard that beta-blockers also disrupt thyroid, but that was not mentioned. https://thyroidpharmacist.com/articles/9-medications-toxic-thyroid/

Interferon and itchy toes
Hi all, this might be a daft question but I'll ask it anyway :) I've just started
interferon
(pegasys) and I have horribly itchy middle toes on both feet. I trained as a podiatrist but can't really decide what it is.

Interferon vs pegInterferon
Hi all Can I please ask if anyone has moved away from normal to pegInterferon as a result of side effects and in particular, after feeling depressed? If so, did it help? Thanks Pete

PV and repeated infections
Is
Interferon
better? My haemo is lovely and very knowledgeable and will probably say the my present drug is achieving the required results. But I get very fed up, and my poor GP must want to run when she sees me coming through the door YET AGAIN!

Useful Presentation if you have PV
Discusses progression risk and treatment options, including possible impact of
Interferon
on progression. Interestingly, there is some evidence to suggest that Pruritus may slow progression!
