Diabetic Foot complications.
I have been a diabetic since 2001. For a few years tried to control My BS levels by popular ayurvedic medicines etc. Since 2006, after a throat infection, I was advised to take insulin. And since then I have been taking Mixtard 30 twice a day. My sugar was poorly managed for quite some time. HbA1C reports

I got my energy back and got rid of all the symptoms...
I got rid of my symptoms when I got enough potassium. It took me some time to find out (browsing research results on pubmed) that one of the reasons hyperthyroidism can be dangerous is that high levels of thyroid hormone depletes the body of potassium. Together with the fact that many of the side effects

Damn the Torpedoes Part 1. Introduction.
Ok folks, on the back of my previous post here’s my program for the coming two or three weeks. This was to have been one long post, but as there is a lot of ground to cover, I will break it up into more manageable chunks. But before we go there here’s a little background. I am 69 years old, weigh 176

Is a 6.5% A1c Good Enough for You?
The type 2 in many cases has additional metabolic distress in the form of
insulin
resistance
, obesity, high blood pressure, and fatty liver disease which would also make a difference when comparing their 6.5% A1c to that same A1c in type 1.

Medichecks Cortisol saliva tests back - advice please
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help please. I am trying to get to the route of my problems and so far ruled out Hashimotos so I must be in the 10% that doesn't have Hashimotos. My insulin levels are slightly raised (last medichecks test last November) but I had a lot of symptoms that indicated adrenal dysfunction

Recent research shows that a plant based diet helps the body produce more insulin in those with type 2 diabetes.
Good morning everyone, I think that this is a really interesting article as it shows on a randomised test those who had a plant based meal compared to the ones who had a meat based meal with the same calories and micronutrients helped the body to produce more insulin in those with type 2 diabetes. Research shows that a plant based diet can increase insulin in type2 diabetic patients.
Hi everyone, I think that anything that helps people improve their health with diet is worth considering, this was published recently in News Medical. I don't want to speak to soon but....
I came across some Nutrigen Inulin sachets for stool regularity on Holland & Barretts website and they *seem* to be making a difference. My three year old has been struggling with stool withholding for about a year now. Longest he held was 10 days and his stools (when they did appear) were a big sticky

So how much carbs is ok? It's a common question...
Hi All - as a nutritional therapist and yoga teacher I am of course interested in choices that help to thrive and help me heal. I myself love sourdough bread and to think of bidding farewell to it upsets me! Over the years my observation is that we need to believe in what we are eating and that it does

Insulin resistant or not?
About 6 or 7 years ago I was very overweight, obese actually, and I had struggled all my life to keep my weight down. I know, looking back, that I was a carb and sugar addict. And I am pretty sure that I must have been insulin resistant. When my husband and I went onto a sort of keto diet, everything

Theory that I would like to hear your opinions on
I was at a doctor’s yesterday. She suspected that I have PCOS or insulin sensitivity and ordered blood tests to be done for both. That was my usual gynecologist appointment. Then I noticed something strange. I didn’t panic at all. On the contrary, I just said ‘oh okay thanks’ and moved on with my day

PCOS and Hashimoto’s?
Does anyone have PCOS and is it connected to Hashimoto’s in any way? How is it treated? Does it affect thyroid? My gynecologist suspects that I have it (she said it resembles PCOS while looking the ultra sound) and ordered some sex hormones to be done when I get my period and also OGTT with insulin levels

Test Results
Hello everyone, I would appreciate if someone helps me to read my blood results. My thyroidectomy was done 11 years ago due to Graves disease and I was treated after only with T4. Last 6 months I am using ERFA NDT 2x60mcg a day..The test was done in Finland, so the lab range can vary. The last dose
