I have copd , fibromyalgia , type 2 diabetes insulin controlled. I read all these posts on here about bronchectasis, psuedomonas and it all means nothing to me. I know practically nothing about the things I suffer from. I don't understand any of it.

Don't worry about it Jjray not everybody wants to know all about the ailments they have; I don't. We have people on here who know more about their ailments than the doctors and consultants who are treating them and that is very good for them (and us if we seek their help). But if you are satisfied with the treatment you are getting and your son is keeping an eye on you, what is there to worry about? Apply your mind to something else, a hobby maybe or reading good books. Some of us are just too old or tired to want to struggle with medical terminology . I know a lot of people might not agree with me on this, but it works for me and it sounds like it would for you as well. 😉
We are all different Jjray! When I was diagnosed with IPF I immediately keyed it into Google and wished I hadn't!! Prognosis after diagnosis was said to be 18 months to 3 years! I am two years on and was described as stable at my last check up. My Consultant said not to take any notice of statistics like this as so much depends on the individuals life style and general health etc. However,I did research what I could do to improve my health , diet, supplements excercises etc and tend to leave the scary stuff alone! I am lucky that my condition does not interfere with my hobbies ( Watercolour painting, Reading Group, listening to Live Music at our local pub etc) I also do a little part time work as a Mystery Shopper when I can manage it. I can’t figure out from your post if you prefer not to know or if you wish you did. I do appreciate that we are guilty of using abbreviations and maybe we could learn some lessons about explaining things better. Please let us know how we can help. You have a lot to deal with there Jjray.
Hi, can only help with COPD. This is a progressive illness and covers a multitude of ailments, Asthma, emphysema etc, symptoms include breathlessness, fatigue, general tiredness and loss of strength to name a few. There are ways around these problems or at least ways of living with them as many will testify to on this forum. You are not alone in this and should be able to gain a fair amount of information from members.
