Hi,
I'm Eccleston and have been treated as a T2 for a number of years now. I quickly progressed to the need for insulin and have concerns that the level of insulin being injected may be well above the average. Is there anyone who would be willing to share their experience please?
Current insulin treatment consists of Toujeo DoubleStar 300 units/ml and Humalog 200 units/ml
Experience of fasting shows that for Toujeo a daily dosage of 120 units maintains BG @ around 5 mmol/l.
When it comes to Humalog I find that for an intake of 50g of carbohydrate, a dosage of 20 units is about right, i.e. 40% of the carbs total.
I have most of the other age related conditions such as high blood pressure.
As a 'bonus' I take a weekly injection of Trulicity 3mg.
Thanks for your interest.
