Pelic girdle issue
Hi all, I never had a pelvic girdle when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism over ten years ago but for the past five years dispite being on replacement hormone I have acquired one. I noticed the muffin type fat around my middle but did not know why I stored weight here or known the correct terminology

Refined sugars - reduce them for your health
Good idea to review one's relationship with sugar. To reduce it. Physiologist and nutritionist John Yudkin wrote a book, 'Pure, white and deadly' in 1972. He was shunned by medical communities. Shame. Sugar's highly addictive. Inflammatory. Wreaks havoc on insulin response. And impacts mood. Of course

Inulin improves gut health in humans in part by stimulating the growth of beneficial bifidobacteria
I need smartypants to figure out if this inulin is good or bad please. https://selfhacked.com/blog/health-benefits-inulin/ Inulin is present in 36,000 plant species including those we consume in our daily diets such as wheat, onion, bananas, garlic, and asparagus. They are also found in less common foods

Hello, I am new to this group, I haven't met or communicated with anyone who has PCOS, so it's nice to not feel so alone. I am 27 but was diagnosed when I was 15/16 since, I had lack of/ irregular periods, cysts and excess facial hair. And was just told I may be infertile and have issues concieving

Valued Advice
Hi everyone, i'm writing again in the hope that I can receive some expert advice from the forum. Your opinions are of tremendous value and help me to make important decisions. Back to Melatonin - Dosing?
I won't go as deep as Art does on Melatonin, but am picking up on a point Art makes often: Dosing! I read all these papers and frankly skim over a lot. Today somebody on FB reposted one of my favorites: 2021 - Melatonin as a Chronobiotic and Cytoprotective Agent in Parkinson’s Disease https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Eating Fruits when you have Diabetes
I came across a very recent article on "How many servings of fruits a day can lower risk of type 2 diabetes?" written by Lakshita Jain, certified clinical dietician and a lecturer. The link is given at the bottom of the post. While it was in my mind to make an exclusive post on fruits, but this article

Blood Sugar Issues While in Treatment
Hello Everyone. Nice to be able to work with you today. Has anyone experienced high blood sugar as a result of treatment. As you will see from my profile, I was originally diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in 2002. This ended up as MBC in August of 2019. So, I have been on some sort of treatment

Insulin Resistance& Diabetes
Hi all! Writing to see if anyone has had experience with insulin resistance and diabetes monitoring/diagnosis? I'm 24 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, recently my symptoms have been worsening and they've found some hormonal imbalance and think insulin resistance may be involved

Biohackers making open source insulin to reduce cost
This may have been posted already so sorry if I missed it and I’m duplicating. Slightly off topic in that this applies to insulin and diabetes but the principle is very interesting and I’m sure could be applied to T3/NDT. The article explains in a bit more detail but the brief version in that biohackers

Effect of Mannitol on the Microbiome
I'm still on the fence about taking Mannitol so I Googled "mannitol microbiome" and found this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6363527/ Effects of nutritive LCSs on the gut microbiota Polyols Polyols are a specific group of compounds used as food additives. They are stable at high temperatures

PD for a Type II Diabetic
Does PD work if you are a type II diabetic? I understand that the fluid that you fill your abdominal cavity with is a sugar-based solution. Does that mean it has an effect on your blood sugar levels? I'm diabetic but only use an oral medication right now and do not require insulin shots. I'm just concerned

Healthy breakfast
Filled me up and gave me energy after an extended fast, did not significantly raise glucose or insulin, cooked in butter so high in natural fats and delicious. What more could you (well, me at least) want?
