Hi. My husband has compensated liver disease (it has been decompensated at times but at the moment it’s ok) and he also has insulin resistant diabetes mellitus. Last couple of days he has been “off”. Pain in his right arm, blood sugar levels up and his head is foggy. I am getting worried but he is hoping it won’t lead to hospital stay as he has ptsd from his last stay whilst suffering from HE . When should I be calling doctor/ambulance. Am I panicking for nothing?-any advice

Good morning , I would encourage you to reach out for medical support- the quicker action is taken the more manageble it can be at home and less likely to lead to admission, I would encourage you to speak with GP, liver specialist team or NHS 111 if this is not possible
Take care,
