B12 Deficiency
Hi everyone.... just wanted some advice really, I recently had some private blood tests done through Medichecks and my vitamin B12 level came back as 49.6, I was advised by seaside Susie that anything under 70 would really warrant further investigation and she advised to get a Methylmalonic test. I went

New Member - Query re. B12 Injections Stopping B12 Getting To Cells Unless Serum B12 High
Hello, I'd be grateful if someone could help me with this query. I read in a recent post that B12 shots could cause problems with B12 getting into cells unless serum levels were very high. Is this due to sensitisation of the cells because of the huge level of B12 in the bloodstream for some time following

Supplements and blood test levels along with over 50 and iron question
I’ve searched the forum, but haven’t been able to find much regarding over age 50 and iron. I would appreciate any input. I’m 55 years old and have Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. I have supplemented with iron and a high level multivitamin with iron for years. I have just now dropped the iron supplement

Going forward with B12 deficiency
Hi everyone! I’m so glad I have found this community, it’s easy to feel alone with this condition. I’ve had a bad couple of days with symptoms returning again, I’ve been feeling dizzy, weak, fatigued and tearful along with bran fog! Classic symptoms I’ve has before. It’s really interesting to hear that

Tablets or Injections for B12
I had a Whipples just over 2 years ago. I didn’t have any of my stomach removed, just my duodenum, part of my pancreas, gall bladder and some of my liver. I have now been diagnosed with low B12 of 153 and iron deficiency. My specialist said I needed injections for B12 and iron tablets but my Dr has

19 years old, wanting to self inject B12??? - long post!
I'm 19 years old, female. In October 2017 I was diagnosed as being deficient in B12. I initially went to the doctors for headaches and he ran a complete blood test. My B12 count was 92. I've previously suffered from iron deficiency anaemia with my lowest count being 4. I'm also deficient in Vitamin D

B12 & Kidneys
I was wondering if anyone knows if mild kidney problems causes problems with getting rid of excess B12? After being diagnosed with B12 deficiency and GPC antibodies in 2016 (which strangely didn’t show in most recent test) I’m now being investigated for autoimmune vasculitis which might be causing some

Result of 'active B12 test'
Hello All. I hope that someone out there can help me with interpreting the result of my 'active B12' test which I received today. I am a bit worried as it is way OVER the normal range and according to the internet this can mean all sorts of horrible things like liver cancer, hepatitis, kidney disease

Active B12 or serum B12 - would you know the difference on your Lab report?
Yesterday I received the results of a group of tests I had done, one of which included Active B12. The result was B12 1476 pmol/L (140-724) which is not surprising as I inject B12 and the lab knew this. I emailed them to say that this was a serum B12 not an active B12 test and their reply was that

Vit d advice for Hashimotos
Hi I have Hashimotos and after taking advice on here last week I have paid for a private Vit d test as GP refused , my result was *44 nmol/L normal range *50 -200 nmol/L This is what came with results - Your vitamin D levels show that you have vitamin D insufficiency. This may progress to vitamin

Vitamin B Complex suggestions
Hi can anybody recommend me a safe Vitamin B complex to take along side my 1000mg Jarrow Methyl B12? I notice most of the B complex contain B12 also and don't want to over do the B12 - Even though I know it is a safe vitamin to take large doses of. Thanks

B12 and PA
Hi I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency 3 years ago but I do not have PA (as far as I know) - have I possibly got this to look forward to or is b12 deficiency a separate condition? If it is a separate condition why do so many people with PA also have a b12 deficiency?
