Advice on blood test results for teenager
My daughter (aged 15) is due to have a phone appointment on Monday with a paediatric endocrinologist, after being reluctantly referred by a general paediatrician. If anyone could advise on blood test results I’d really appreciate it. Just as a bit of background, she was referred by GP to a paediatrician

Six years into PMR. What should my GP be testing me for?
I have had PMR for 6 years and have never successfully got below 10mg per day. I recently tried a DSNS to reduce to 9mg over 2 months and I just couldn't do it. 10 mg is where I really need to be. I am so lucky that I have few and minor side effects and am happy to stay at 10mg to maintain my quality

Kidney Stones
Hi guys Has anyone here had experience of kidney stones? I've had history of it since my early 20s. Usually every 6-7 years. Most times have resulted in my needing to go to hospital for strong pain relief and I've always managed to pass 2-3mm stones eventually. I've been struggling this week with severe

Chronic diarrhoea
My GP has prescribed
Imodium
and various rehydration powders but, although these have relieved the symptoms slightly, they don't treat the underlying cause. Have any of you experienced similar symptoms and succeeded in curing this wretched debilitating ailment?

T3 / weight gain
Hi everyone I currently take T3 75mcg in one single dose. I have under active thyroid / hashimotos. My biggest symptom is weight gain. I have put quite a bit of weight on this last year which has caused me to become type 2 diabetic again. I have had some bloods taken & got the results. Please note

Its my turn to worry now
Well, after over two years of stable numbers, I had a 4 point drop in my GFR. My creatinine also went up. I am frustrated but I am not going to let that stop me. I feel fine and I asked my nephrologist to retest me in a month. All of my other labs look fine or stable. I have not had blood tests in

T3 Liothyronine that doesn't contain sodium?
Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of T3 that doesn't contain sodium chloride? I have been suffering with water retention since starting on Tiromel and wondered if I'm sensitive to the fillers/sodium. T3 definitely helps me and I don't want to stop, but would like to find one that doesn't cause this

Dry mouth? Anxiety?
Hello everyone. My mouth started getting dry the passed Friday? I believe? And it seems like no matter how much water I drink it won’t go away. Ive been having bad anxiety the last week as well and I wonder if this is something that happens with others regularly. I have health anxiety and I always fear

Does anyone have low CO2 readings on their labs?
Curious is anyone else has low CO2 readings on your labs? Mine had been at 22 for over a year and then this last lab, dropped to 19. (My labs in general were not great with some decline. My doctor was not too concerned and said to increase my sodium citrate that I take. But, I was feeling really crappy

Electrolytes
I've read something on here or may be another forum about drinking an electrolyte drink for Afib. It makes sense because I, and I'm sure others, suffer from increased urination from metoprolol. And increased urination can deplenish the body of our needed electrolytes. I've also read that metoprolol can

SALT!
Remember that the average body NEEDS 6gm of salt a day and that it's insulin, not sodium that drives hypertension. Insulin hangs on to sodium, sodium increases blood volume which drives up blood pressure and thus elevates pressure on the kidneys. Typical of anyone with T2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome

Dealing with balanitis since March - suggestions?
Hi all - looking for some advice on what to do. I've been suffering from recurrent balanitis since March. Same pattern as others: treatments offer relief, but it eventually comes back once stopping them (sometimes even while treatment is ongoing). Symptoms in my case seem milder than what I've read
