Is there anything I can do to halt my disease progression?
Is there anything else I can do to halt my disease progression? My current GFR is 86 and I'm just trying to stop this thing before it gets out-of-hand. I currently do not eat refined sugar, gluten, or red meat. I have been sticking to a low sodium diet as well and eat mostly vegetables and fruit. I am

Acalabrutinib three weeks appointment
I don’t know where my previous post went. Very likely, I did something wrong, so here it goes. The only side effect was bad headache for one week after which it became dull and I don’t even need to take Tylenol. Some fatigue and less energy and that is all. 👍🏻 My results are: WBC low at 3.9,

Saying hello from isolation W2 Day1
Hello everybody, It’s the beginning of W2 in the 12 week isolation advised by the CMO/Gov, and I just wanted to say Hi. I’ve been following every bodies progress with interest, (albeit I’m a little jealous) and you’re all doing fab 👍😁 I had a few days in the doldrums, but can’t go on like that for

Advice re Chronic Fissure for a 40-year-old Athlete
Hi, I'm new here. Thanks to everyone who's already posted. I first developed an anal fissure in 2.5 years ago. I kept thinking it would heal on its own. My surgeon told me continuing to row and bike wouldn't make it worse, but it definitely seemed to prevent it from healing. I finally had surgery

Levothyroxine sodium – Anhydrous vs. Pentahydrate
There is a difference between levothyroxine sodium (anhydrous) and the most common hydrated form, levothyroxine sodium pentahydrate. Five water molecules are attached to the levothyroxine sodium molecule in the pentahydrate; none in the anhydrous.

Severe impaction told to use lactulose then Movicol
Hi Guys, As the title says I've finally been diagnosed (after a CT Scan and Colonoscopy) with impacted bowel. I never had a clue as I thought I was going normally everyday but was experiencing feeling of incomplete evacuation. I was advised to take lactulose 15ml twice a day for at least 6 months. I've

Does constipation block bugs?
I posted a few days ago after getting a bad reaction after Mexican food on Monday. I barely ate Monday and Tues as I felt off but on both days had one miserable stool. Wednesday however my appetite came back and I felt amazing. Worked out and had lunch and an hour later pure liquid diarrhea. TMI - I

Unnumbered post DMT, YES I am on it 9 Feb 2020
I am sorry I thought I had made this clear. I am on Disease-Modifying Therapy)DMT). I have been on it as soon as I could get it twenty years ago and have never stopped and will never stop. I have a phobia, an irrational fear of needles but I stood up straight and did my needle every other day

What to eat during a crisis? (No water or power)
I live in an area where we get hurricanes and we usually buy canned food to get through while we have no running water or power. With my recent diagnosis i can’t eat prepackaged, high sodium foods. What do you guys do or would recommend for a situation like this?

Flucuationg blood pressure
In the past several months, I've been reducing my prednisone from 5mg to currently 3mg. I've had high blood pressure for many years and take three medications for it (despite implementing all the lifestyle changes). About 8 weeks ago, my bp spiked to some very high levels...180/85. My internist added

SNAC and B12 (and other absorption enhancers)
Eligen B12 claims improved absorption due to SNAC. The testing was done on a small number of "normal" subjects - and the paper is from 2011. Any opinions on whether it has any role whatsoever in confirmed Pernicious Anaemia? Or even just B12 defiency that does not appear to resolve by using standard

Finally getting somewhere... hopefully
So I haven't posted in 4 months as I was waiting until I had something more to report. I had my 12 week lupus anticoagulant follow up test and this came back positive again with a note that if this is not caused by lupus then it needs following up. The luoys unit have signed me off so haven't looked

Alternative therapies: what I've learned
I've been on the PMR journey since 2014, and the pred episode since 2015. In that time I've also had an osteoporosis scare. Those interested in what I did about that can read https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/137578304/my-osteoporosis-journey - a bit dated now, but successful anyway.... When

I'm confused - am I recovering?
It was almost 9 months ago I took two shots of liquid Flucloaxillin and got the worst case of post infectious Ibs. I'm actually under the belief that I had c-diff as after 3 weeks after taking the two little doses I had water coming out. I was petrified and horrified especially seeing as I was doing
