Hi does anyone experience bad diarrhoea with endometriosis. I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago due to having diarrhoea for 8 weeks but nothing was found on the test. Always suffered painful periods October 2019 I had a laporoscopy and was diagnosed with endometriosis and cyst on my right ovary. I’ve had Prostap injections for 3 months , had my last one on December 12th 2019 and I have been experiencing bad period pain for the last 2 weeks but no bleed but I have bad diarrhoea and having to rely on Imodium so I can go to work. Has anyone else experienced this .

Endo and diarrhoea
Hi Pollypot
Oh yes. All my endo life I’ve had this problem. I would regularly get cramps and have to run to the toilet and awful diarrhoea especially before or during periods but to be honest I had it other times too. Never had a colonoscopy but was always told it’s my endo. I use Codeine based pain relief as it helps the diarrhoea and also cramp and endo pain. And when really bad Imodium too. I can’t tell you how many years I’ve suffered this debilitating symptom of endo. You’re not alone. X
This has already been part of my issues. For me no cow's milk dairy and no gluten has given me better bowel control. Since you're not supposed to use imodium long term my previous GP suggested Buscopan (I'd had diarrhea for 4wks straight then!) It's an antispasmodic IBS medication and you can buy it over the counter even in the UK. It really helps get things back under control. Nothing showed on my colonoscopy either, it was all down to my endo on my uterosacral ligament (your hypogastric nerve runs through there). I'm sorry it's so frustrating all the symptoms this disease creates!
I was told that I had IBS due to having diarrhoea. But I also had rectal bleeding with clots, which they thought was endometriosis in the bowel, but it never showed up when I had colonoscopies. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with a rectal ulcer. Also the lining of my bowel is very thin. Hence, this allows my bowel to bleed very easily.
Much better than it used to be but yes from time to time. My adhesions have made my colon tortuous which can cause IBS-like symptoms. It improved after I went on a low residue diet for a few months.
I’m so glad I found this post as I suffer on and off with random diarrhoea bouts. I’ve had it since Saturday this week and I’m also having a small flare up of my endo. So surely it’s connected. I sometimes panic thinking is it stomach cancer 🤦♀️ But There’s no weight loss Or any other symptoms just cramps and diarrhoea which is awful at work 😔. But again not all the time. I should do a diary I suppose and log when I get it and what my endo is doing. Hope you get sorted xxxx
I always get diarrhoea when I have a period. It only last for a day or two but I can never be far from a toilet 😩 I had a laparoscopy about a month ago and they found endo near my bowel but not on it. I also got constipation pretty badly too, but this has cleared up okay since the operation. I hope my diarrhoea will clear up I've fully healed.
Hope you find answers soon 💕
