Is she constipated?
Hi. My 9 year old a couple of years ago was impacted. Went through the regime of movicol and sodium picosulfate and then started to wean her off of it. Last month or so she’s been running back and forth to the toilet all the time. Sometimes every 10 minutes she’s in there. She says she needs a poo. When

Lamictal or Duloxetine
Hi I have long qt so can't take many meds. Took anitriptyline for years but had to come off I also have migraine aura and nerve disturbances. Neurologist reckons it's sodium channels. A short trial on gabapentin low dose worsened my depression. At least I got a little sleep though. So now I have insomnia

Is fasting necessary for NDT?
Is there the same fasting requirement with synthetic T4 as with NDT? The author of "Tired Thyroid" say that synthetic levothyroxine sodium requires gastric acid to cleave off the sodium ion to get thyroxine but that natural dessicated thyroid comes already as thyroxine and requires less acid. Therefore

DBS battery--affecting my symptoms?
I had DBS surgery 4.5 years ago. I have been alerted to the fact that my battery needs changing out by my DBS monitor, and I am having the minimal surgery on 4/24. I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago (I am now 70) and have stayed fairly functional. Until now. For the last couple of months, my symptoms

Breathlessness while on Keppra
I started with Epilepsy about 4 years ago and eventually the fits settled on Keppra having tried both Lamotragine and sodium valporate. After 3 years on 1000 mg per day split into 2 doses, I suffered a really bad reaction to the Keppra- intense nausea, bad back ache and dreadful confusion and the dose

I got my energy back and got rid of all the symptoms...
I got rid of my symptoms when I got enough potassium. It took me some time to find out (browsing research results on pubmed) that one of the reasons hyperthyroidism can be dangerous is that high levels of thyroid hormone depletes the body of potassium. Together with the fact that many of the side effects

Bicarbonate of soda eased my ectopics
Hi all I have been writing to members describing a potential relief I have experienced from my lifelong VEB's. Please disregard. It seems that the effects of taking sodium bicarbonate can be severe and include violent diarrhoea and other issues. So I will just keep on with my magnesium tablets and anti-depressants

HDT and dyskinesia
A friend of mine and a PWP has severe dyskinesia and I was wondering if the high dose thiamine protocol would help her? I understand that HDT is meant to prevent developing dyskinesia but I'm not sure if it helps decrease the movements once you have it. She was considering deep brain stimulation but

Can anyone help me interpret / argue my blood results to my GP?
Hi, I had a full run of bloods last week which have all been signed off as "satisfactory" by the GP. This doesn't solve anything, as I'm still so exhausted that I sleep through 3 alarms including a sunlight alarm clock every morning and can barely keep my eyes open all day. I'd be really grateful

Neuro appointment
I saw my neuro on the 11th of February. Had to double our driving time due to a snow storm. He’s pretty happy with where things are. We only adjusted the time of day I take my second dose of ampyra. Interestingly, I asked him his go to med if I just can’t stand taking Rebif anymore. (I don’t have side

New Blue Horizons Vitamin and Mineral test!

Fluoxetine severe reaction and withdrawals

In January my GP transferred me onto fluoxetine after tapering down the Lofepramine. Almost from day 1 of taking the fluoxetine I got severe migraines on a daily

Please help with return of symptoms - GP says he has no explanation
I was diagnosed in March 2018 Blood test TSH level 5.1 I was given 50 micro grams of Levothyroxine. This made me feel a lot less tired and all my other symptoms went. I stopped putting weight on but still couldn’t lose any. I felt like I could have benefited from a tiny bit more Levothyroxine but blood
