Hi everyone, This is my second post. My first post, my husband had been leaking protein and was told it would go away. A year later, he still has it. Now he's being referred to a Nephrologist for the first time. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on what to ask? He's not diabetic and his blood

Damn, how do I lose weight?
Two weeks of one meal per day and no weight loss. I use urinalysis strips which show no sugar in urine , so no diabetes, no blood so no bladder or prostate infection, no urobilinogen and no bilirubin so no liver disease, normal specific gravity so probably no diabetes insipidus, no protein which

Insulin & glucose in Parkinson's / Ketogenic lifestyle
hi, I am finding that the effect of glucose or insulin has quite an effect on mobility. Before, it seemed that protein alone would interfere with L-Dopa. Now it's not only that, but post-prandial somnolence that can lay me down for hours. Come the next day, I can pretty much lead a "normal" day (with

Total flare up. Need support & a few questions
Hey everyone. Today has been the worst flare up day I’ve had In months, so be easy on me. I’m trying to figure out why I am flaring up and why my symptoms are the worst they’ve been. A little context, (I’ll put my labs attached as well). But I already eat the cleanest I possibly can. I stay away from

Ketone Esters, Keto Diet, and PD and AD

Any thoughts on test results?
So I have been treating pernicious anemia for around a year and have felt really great up until the past couple of days. My arms and legs have been throbbing/aching so I went and took some blood work. TSH: .185 uIU/ml (low) T4 Free: .93 ng/dL (normal) Ketones: Trace (urine analysis) Protein: 30 mg

Prostate cancer castrate resistant progression usage of non-canonical androgen receptor signaling and ketone body fuel - MDA/UBA, 01.15.2021
The following research out of MDA and University of Buenos Aires is quite perplexing to me, since it seems to indicate that the ketone bodies generated by a ketogenic diet or fasting would actually be creating fuel for prostate cancer, at least at some points in its progression to CR androgen independence

4 weeks of Keto
I have now been on Keto with TRE (16 hours) for 4 weeks exactly. I am going to switch to low carb from today, and my current plan is to go full Keto again in 2 months' time. I checked the ketones with a stick this morning and they are in a small amount range. I think that can be explained by the

Day 2.
Yesterday's food was the same as Monday's. Break fast with coffee/cream at 6am, tinned kippers 4pm, 14 hours overnight fasting, then 12 hour fast to main meal. 12 am I tested for ketones, mild ketosis. Photo shows a strip 6am today full on! Worked all day as a handyman and as it was a lovely evening

Ketones
Ketones for menopause symptoms. Discuss! (I’m not a fan of “instant cures”, and this along with collagen (for different reasons) seem to be the thing of the moment. I/we can’t fast because it throws our thyroid stuff out, can you use ketones or not - confused! Thanks)

How Calories from Sugar/simple carbs, are different than calories from other food.
Most adult males require about 2,500 calories to maintain body weight. Most doctors will tell you that maintaining body weight is about calories in and calories out, regardless of caloric source. 3 teaspoons of sugar and one apple are calorically equal – about 50 calories. Theoretically, if you ate

Ketones in urine (5 weeks pregnant)
Hi, today I went to the GP and they found I have Ketones in my urine. They were not sure of the amount of ketone so they send it to laboratory for more info. I know this might be a sign of gestational diabetes, but I am only 5 weeks pregnant! They checked my insulin and everything was ok.... For context
