First do no harm????
She stated that my GP should have made the original referral lre my RA to Souhtmead if I want
hydrotherapy
and all in all was nasty. At the end of the day (and I'm sure many of yourselves would feel similar).

Tried
hydrotherapy
and physiotherapy when able, but nothing lasts for long. I believe if they had given TNF quickly my disease and joints would be in better condition.

Becoming an Expert Patient - article 3: Dealing with Doctors
Physiotherapy,
hydrotherapy
, counselling and nutritionists may be available on the NHS: check with your GP. Occupational therapy and exercise programs may be available through your local social services, but again your GP should know of such schemes if you ask.

I am totally wiped out.
I had my second session of
hydrotherapy
today. I don't think the physiotherapist understood what fibromyalgia is. It was evident when he said, And which part of your body hurts. I worked out the whole body. Now I am suffering

A little bit down
I've been feeling quite sad, but not depressed, the last week. I suppose part of it is feeling sorry for myself, but I have been sad that my Mum can't visit at the moment because her Menieres disease has started playing up again. I usually see her every second Monday but that won't happen any more until

Topic of the Month: January - Relaxation Tips
Relaxation is one of the most important and effective self-help activities for people with lupus. It can be a very useful measure to prevent the development of stress and anxiety, and at the end of the day to help you sleep. Stress is well known to worsen the symptoms of lupus and can result in a flare

Hydrotherapy
is the complementary therapy with the best level of evidence behind it for its use as treatment for Fibro. I certainly find warm baths and showers helpful for pain, especially I incorporate some stretches with time in the water. 5.

Hypnosis in asthma treatment
I am a health psychologist in training studying the use of hypnosis in asthma for my doctorate. My GP put me on to hypnosis and autogenic training to help my own asthma control, so I know about its benefits on a personal basis. Is anyone aware of any studies being done with hypnosis or relaxation with

Fear of flying.......
The warmer temperatures over the last week have made me realise how much better a bit of sunshine makes me feel (although it's a return to the hat, scarf and three pairs of gloves this weekend!). Every winter I feel the need to escape from this country to somewhere warm where I would be able to ditch

I had my
hydrotherapy
appointment today at 1 p.m which I was really looking forward to. I also wanted to go to the local coffee morning in the village, as I am trying to get to talk to locals about our farm.

Pain management and hypnosis - have you tried it?
Hi I used to practice self hypnosis and I've started again today after a long gap of several years. It's good for reducing muscle spasm and makes me feel less anxious and a bit happier. There seems to be lots of evidence about the use of hypnosis and pain management, but hypnosis is not used much
