On hydrocortisone after being on prednisone for close to 5 years
Anyone else had experience with going on hydrocortisone from prednisone after symptoms of adrenal insufficiency? Endocrinologist saying maybe she can get me off medication when I reach 10 mg.

Increased inflammation-flare?
In September last year my rheumatologist asked if while I was at Mayo Clinic I could see an endocrinologist about a possible testosterone issue. That was ok but I mentioned y long term prednisone, and getting off of them. I was put on 20mg hydrocortisone 10 in am and 10 at 3pm. Reduce to 15 after a month

Hi All, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor grade 2 Ependymoma in March of 2024. I had surgery but the doctor could only remove 10 To 15 % because of the location and several nerves surrounding the mass. I had radiation but after completion there was no change. Didn’t shrink but also didn’t grow.

Sudden diagnosis of CKD3 a few months following adrenalectomy
My wife was borderline cushing's disease back in fall. For years she had a nodule on her adrenal gland that was creating significant health issues. Had surgery to remove the one gland back in November, and then was on a course of hydrocortisone for about 4 months (gradually decreasing dosage until done

Side effects
Hi all, Mum takes cortisol acertate for adrenal insuffiency. I understand you take hydrocortisone for arthritus. I think it has the same side effects, like electrolyte imbalance and immuno suppression? If so, what did you do to keep your immune system strong? Do you get sick all the time?

Latest Medicheck Results
I re-started Levo 7 weeks ago and these are my before/after results. I’m self medicating and also use 7.5 -10mg hydrocortisone daily. Without the HC I feel very peculiar and have in the past, stopped the thyroid meds because of it. I’ve managed to be fairly ok this time and I’d like some feedback on

A few developments - anybody got similar
Don’t want to bore you all but I have had a couple of developments recently apart from having my Rituximab extended for another year. Firstly I am on statins since last Thursday, I am fit, I get out, eat a low carb/high fibre diet but my cholesterol is around 7 so it just shows you. No after effects

Strong negative reaction to first Docetaxel treatment
I am participating in an NIH study combining Docetaxel with an immunotherapy. I had my first treatment of only Docetaxel this Tuesday. I lasted 2 minutes and 7cc before I had a severe reaction - severe flushing (glowing red from head to toe), difficulty breathing, sweating, uncontrollable shivering.

update
I took the 10mg of hydrocortisone with my 6.5 of Prednislone a few days ago and I felt terrible high bp,blurry vision, high anxiety. So I’ve now decided to taper instead so yesterday I started on a 0.25mg taper and I’m feeling a tad better. I think I need to taper rather than add anything in as I think

Experience with vulvar contact dermatitis
Hey lovelies. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with a red rash in vulvar area. I have a red rash on both sides off entrance to vagina that runs up to my inner lips on both sides. The red rash also has like wee white bumps over the redness. I've been to the Dr's 3 times for swabs etc that

Should go into the OMAHA2a ODM-208 (MK-5684-004): phase 3 trial?
I had my 3 monthly OC visit last week. Blood test is showing 0.3 up from 0.15 six weeks ago. MO is suggesting that I should go into the ODM-208 (MK-5684): phase 3 trial if PSA rises above 1.0. PSA of 1.0 or above is a entry requirement for the trial, presumable to be sure that my current treatment

Finasteride
Has anyone on this forum taken Finasteride? I've been on it for a couple of months for my hair loss (I'm female). I've developed hives over the last few weeks, which I'm beginning to think is due to the Finasteride. The hives aren't too bad yet, and have been mostly controlled by a steroid cream

Hi all, I hope everyone has had a good weekend. I’m wondering if anybody knows if what appears as a consultation on the NHS app matches what is written on the system the GP’s use? To give some background I had an appointment about a mole like mark on my leg. GP sent me away with steroid cream as
