I re-started Levo 7 weeks ago and these are my before/after results. I’m self medicating and also use 7.5 -10mg hydrocortisone daily. Without the HC I feel very peculiar and have in the past, stopped the thyroid meds because of it. I’ve managed to be fairly ok this time and I’d like some feedback on what I should do next if possible. Many thanks.

28/3/24 - No thyroid meds for 6-7 weeks

TSH 2.81 (0.27-4.2)

FT4 12.7 (12-22)

FT3 3.9 (3.1-6.8)

20/5/24 - 50T4/6T3/7.5-10 hydrocortisone

Same range as above

TSH 0.034

FT4 14.5

FT3 4.6

I dropped the T3 about a week ago as it made me feel more hypo. I seem to do better with just T4 and HC.

suggest you increase Levo dose SLOWLY upwards

Perhaps initially by only 12.5mcg per day

Wait 6-8 weeks then retest

Are your vitamins at optimal levels

Many thanks SlowDragon, yes my vits and iron are all good, B12 was a little low last test but I know why and have reinstated a different b supp which I’d got on well with previously. At my next test I’ll include vits and iron.

Could I do alt day 75? My eltroxin tablets are really difficult to cut without crumbling into tiny useless pieces.

No I really wouldn’t do that

Use a sharp craft scalpel to cut into halves or 1/4’s

Store remainder in pill dispenser for next days

Mop up any crumbs with damp finger
