Experience of using hydrocortisone tablets to improve low adrenal reserve
Hello all, I would like to hear about your experiences of using hydrocortisone at very low doses, as suggested by Dr Peatfield, to pep up adrenal function, with the goal of eventually weaning off it if suitable to do so. What dose did you use, for how long, and did it help you, particularly in relation

Ectopics and steroid cream
I’m 6 weeks post Cardioversion of Atrial Flutter . I’m getting ectopics most of the day it started to happen the night I took my wife to dinner. Had a zero beer and 1 zero wine but I guess both full of sugar. So far had them for 3 days the doctor gave me ECG to confirm not AF. Only things doing differently

The joy of the unclear diagnosis 😂
This is a verrrry long post!! If anyone actually reads to the end you have my full respect I’m a returning member to the forum. I used to be active when I was being treated for severe asthma. I used to routinely end up in hospital for basic chest infections, and struggled with chest aching and tightness

Hi everyone
Hi everyone, I'm new on here but have had eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis for some time. I'm from Manchester, UK and I've currently noticed the skin on my face flaking. It's driving me mad. I've been using Dermol 200 for showering and now moisturising my skin (including my face) but it doesn't stop

The relationship between thyroid and adrenals
I understand that being hypo can put strain on adrenal output, but is it the same in reverse? Ie. would adrenals which are under unrelenting stress for a number of years undermine thyroid output due to an HPA feedback malfunction? I have low ft4/3 and tsh so I’m not classic hypo. I’ve been diagnosed

Phimosis: My journey through
I am in my late 40s and almost 2 years ago I first developed phimosis. It basically happened suddenly. The only thing I can think of that may have caused it is that it developed soon after a day when my wife got (very unusually) sexually frisky. I did not have any noticeable injury at the time, but skin

Possibly not an ET symptom but thought I would ask :)
Hi everyone, I thought this place would be a good place to ask as it's a wealth of knowledge 😊 and it might be ET related or not. I have never experienced this before. Weeks in pain and return of lack of Spoons
For weeks now, with all the jiggery pokery with my Pred and Hydrocortisone , I've been in constant pain unless I take the French equivalent of Co-Codamol x 3 per day. I have finally kicked the Hydro, after the last week on alternating days and I think now 2 days free. Pred is at 8mg which is where it

Cellulitis in foot and hands, leading to dramatic skin changes all over my body
I have primary lymphoedema in my left foot which has been well controlled through compression and daily creaming of the affected area. Despite showing no signs of any lesion I developed cellulitis which went un-diagnosed for a week or so as I was unaware of what it was. My foot and ankle were very swollen

adrenal insufficiency/prednsiolone
Hi everyone I've posted about this before, but I have adrenal insufficiency due to Prednisolone use, been on 5mg a day for over 2 years now, purely for cortisol replacement rather than asthma. I have a appointment coming up with the endocrinologist in a few weeks. I saw one privately about 6 months

Questions about using hydrocortisone instead of cortex?
Hi everyone, *post for a friend* does anyone with confirmed low cortisol on a 4 point saliva test currently use HC? Beginning to wonder if cortex might not be enough as I am having a lot of intolerance symptoms persisting after armour dose increases.. (vitamin deficiencies all ruled out/optimised

Red marks on face
Does anyone use Elocon steroid cream, I used it on my red lupus marks a few years ago and they cleared up. I now have a couple of red marks on face, quite small, and have started using Elocon on them as they just won’t disappear. Some days they look really faded and other days look red again. I’m going

The damn peaks and troughs
I wonder if this might resonate with anyone. I'm currently self-medicating for what I think is secondary hypo, 10 mg Hydrocortisone first thing and 50mcg Levo at bedtime. It's very early days with the meds but the hydrocortisone had an almost immediate positive effect. For the past 3/4 years I have had

almost 200 days post SCT update
Spurred on by Jennie’s update earlier, I thought it was high time that I wrote an update on my progress. I’m almost at 200 days post transplant. I’ve hardly had any issues so far other than my Hb count has sat quite stubbornly at or around 80 for the past couple of months. This has resulted in a good

The need for FT4, FT3 and TSH tests
Hi. Sorry I've written about this before and cannot find the responses to my question. I have an appointment with my endocrinologist tomorrow morning. I asked if I could have Free T4 and T3 and TSH tests done. I made it clear in my request that I needed all 3. Frustratingly I had blood tests
