Hi everyone ! I've read different views on here in the past of having a flu jab. I've been wondering about the current flu situation and whether I should have the flu and pneumonia jabs. I haven't in the past. Any advice appreciated! Thanks Jane

colds and asthma
Having manage to avoid a cold all winter I now have one which started yesterday. Lots of catarrh and a chesty cough. I did take regular Ventolin yesterday 4 puffs every 4 hours and now started doing it today since lunchtime. I spoke to asthma UK nurses for advice and they said check my peak flow to

Just out of interest
Hi Everyone Hope you are managing through the coughs and colds and the flu Jab has worked:) I am now moving toward 4 mgs. My shoulder stiffness has gone. I am still stiff in both arm and hip sockets. I have been spraying NUT MEG oil which is just nutmeg eucalyptus and peppermint. The warmth it generates

Flu
Hi everyone. Just wondered if any of you are getting worried about this nasty Aussie flu. I read that the flu jab doesn't cover this strain, but wondered if this was right? Might just become a hermit until about March!

Flu jab - recommended or not
Hi all, I’m going to visit my mother who is undergoing cancer treatment, and she suggested that i’d take a flu jab before I come. I remember seeing posters about flu vaccinations at the blood clinic, but can’t remember whether they recommended them or not. I suffer from PV. Many thanks for your advice

I have very severe COPD and have never gotten a pnemonia shot before. i did get my influenza vaccine though. I live in the south and am wondering if i should let this years pnemonia shot go since we only have 6 weeks of winter left here. I read the side effects and they scare me. I just don't want to

Wondering, finding out, keep living.
Well with all the rain and cold weather there seems to be little relief. I felt great this summer after starting my meds and changing jobs, the heat and little rain. However when winter started I made arrangements for my little family to have the flue jab. We have so far only had the youngest ill for

Flu jab
Hello all I could be mentioning something totally not relevant here but it was something someone said to me this week. I know there are many different types of Vasculitis, I myself have Cutaneous Vasculitis, can anyone say if they have been given a free flu jab because of your Vasculitis diagnosis?

Help! Asthma +
So I had my flu jab as recommended but unfortunately got the flu anyway. I have recently been diagnosed with asthma and it seems to be rather sensitive at the best of times but it really doesn't like the flu... I'm not sure what I can do or take! Even more unfortunately, I suffer from Costochondritis

Day 1 Entracept injection update
For those who may be advised to take a biologic, today was my injection day ta dar.... I had my first injection in the morning. The nurses were very nice - despite my reservations. They do a demo on how to use the pen, then it’s over to you! I wanted to get it over with and not deliberate. Best

In praise of being a good patient, not a great one
I got sick the way Hemingway says you go broke. 'Slowly, and then all at once.' I got 'better' the same way. As weeks and months went by I would wake up and things that hurt before no longer did. I would later have to revert back to my journal to see how many joints were originally out of whack. When

Whooping Cough Shot TDAP in U.S.
In the U.S. they are now suggesting the DTAP (diphtheria, Tetatnus, Pertussis/whooping cough) booster for every pregnancy. My daughter went ahead and had hers... at least for her first pregnancy (she is AL positive) They are suggesting all grandparents get this as well if they haven’t in the past 8

Is this lymphedema?
Hi all Happy New Year! In 2004 I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer with lymph node involvement on the right hand side. After lumpectomy, mastectomy I had chemo followed by radiotherapy for 6 weeks. I went back to work shortly after finishing radiotherapy, it proved too soon and I didn't feel
