Just out of interest

Hi Everyone

Hope you are managing through the coughs and colds and the flu Jab has worked:) I am now moving toward 4 mgs. My shoulder stiffness has gone. I am still stiff in both arm and hip sockets. I have been spraying NUT MEG oil which is just nutmeg eucalyptus and peppermint.

The warmth it generates seems to get me going. It works for me so just sharing. My family says it smells like Vick so maybe that would be as good:)

Where did you get it from Julie?

The smell would be the eucalyptus I expect. Your description makes me want to rush right out and get some! Btw I've discovered that if I keep myself very warm, warmer than I used to think was comfortable, my PMR niggles vanish and I feel, generally, better! Perhaps the perceived warmth of the spray you use has a similar effect?

HeronNS Snap! I do the same. I used to be the one who always turned the heating down but now I leave it up and put something round my shoulders when I'm sitting at night watching TV. I also feel better with heat.

That's fine and dandy if you can stand the heat--- I stay out of the kitchen!? My wife shivers if the fridge door opens and sleeps under a doubled over duvet when the heating is on. And me- well, I sleep without a cover (practice, after the duvet thief has spent 37 years visiting my side of the bed) and have the luxury of walking around in shorts with no shirt whilst at home!

I used to be the same, kept the house cool, never seemed to get cold. I now have complete understanding of why visitors to our house, especially my mother in law, used to find our home so cold. And now I have to practically wear outdoor clothes to visit my son in his house! Last year I used a (not very hot) hot water bottle all summer to keep my lower legs warm in bed because otherwise they ache. Sigh.

If you look on eBay and type in NUT-MEG the product comes up it’s around 20 pounds for two sprays but it lasts a while:)

Warmth helps my shoulder pain too, I sit with a water-bottle against my back. Have tried a heatpad but cannot get comfy with it.

Agree, heat helps. In physical therapy the first thing they did was put was warm compresses across my shoulders...heating pads that went into microwave. Def saw them in drug stores. When pain was intolerable a very hot shower helped. 80 degrees in Dallas was way better than 20 in NJ! I layer up pajamas...sometimes 3 tops!

I use microwave heat pads and also Glucosomine and Emu oil lotion, (available from Amazon). They say it is a traditional remedy used by the aborigines, ( Emu oil that is). It does seem to help with my Sciatica as well.
