I’m going to visit my mother who is undergoing cancer treatment, and she suggested that i’d take a flu jab before I come. I remember seeing posters about flu vaccinations at the blood clinic, but can’t remember whether they recommended them or not. I suffer from PV.
Many thanks for your advice,
Moina

Yes for any MPN it is always advised to have the flu jab as our immune systems are compromised - my GP sends me a letter for each year and yes I have had the jab each year since diagnosed 11 years ago. It gives good protection
Yes, do have it for yours and your mums sake. My husband has it so he doesn't get it and pass it to me, I have it. My brother who has just finished prostate cancer treatment refused it and has been really ill with flu.
Strongly recommend you have the flu jab annually because you have a chronic illness. I must add though that I have it every year but I am now suffering with the Australian Flu bug. It doesn't guarantee to protect you from all strains of the flu unfortunately.
