Amalgam Fillings
Hi, interested in views on amalgam fillings - are they damaging? Do they leech metal poisons into one's system? My husband's back teeth are all amalgam-filled. Believe it or not, his dentist (UK) filled good teeth as a preventative measure for dental caries down the track. Can't help but wonder whether

Comparative Effectiveness of Radical Prostatectomy vs EBRT Plus Brachytherapy in High-Risk Localized Prostate Cancer
This is a study done on "healthy" adults. There are limitations to this study to be sure. It's a population study, and not addressing the advanced disease. Nonetheless, another data point to keep in mind. https://www.practiceupdate.com/C/76714/56?elsca1=emc_enews_topic-alert "TAKE-HOME MESSAGE The comparative

Does anyone know about Flecainide and Nebivolol together?
Hi, I'm new here but it's time for me to 'jump in'. I have been following the posts on here for a while now, finding them both interesting and informative, sometimes even quite amusing. A few weeks ago the decision was made to change my 50mg flecainide PIP to a regular dose (2 x 50mg) one in the morning

Allopurinol when first taking Hydroxy
Hi again everyone. Since writing a post I have finished my 3 weeks' radiotherapy now for breast cancer, during which time my Hydroxy for ET was stopped. I'm now awaiting an appointment to see Haematologist when I expect I will be put back on Hydroxy. Did any or all of you have to take Allopurinol for

Dx 203 CLL in Feb 2013,male, living in India, watch and wait till last week. I am Ighv mutated and no Zap 70 and CD 38. My Fish test revealed no genetic deletion Like 17p, 13q, 11q. Due to gradual fall of Hb to 8 and lymphocytes around 100k, I was advised B R chemo immunotherapy and stated on November

Monosodium Glutamate
Monosodium Glutamate has been in the controversy that it causes brain damage to sensitive persons who consume it more often. Is MSG or otherwise known as Chinese Salt (Ajinomoto) approved by NHS or any regulatory authority for sale in the UK?

Partial wrist fusion
Had a partial fusion done in May this year, ive had nothing but botber and pain since it was done. I still can't lift even a spoon, nor drive my car with confidence now, can't even write my name. Seems it's the worst decision I've ever made. Question is , can it be reversed back to what it was before

Allopurinol
I was prescribed Allopurinol for gout and searched the Internet for its effect on prostate cancer. See abstracts from two papers below. Mol Cancer Res. 2008 Dec;6(12):1852-60. doi: 10.1158/1541-7786.MCR-08-0012. Anti-gout agent allopurinol exerts cytotoxicity to human hormone-refractory prostate cancer

Is it a flare or snething else , so much pain
Hi All , I hope today is a good day . I recently posted that the Rhuemy said to my GP I will probably be in a low dose of pred for life . I still try every now and then and even got down to 1mg a year back but was taking Arcoxia 60mg which just acted as a pain killer. I dropped recently to 3.5mg and

Imbruvica after Dilantin
I've been on imbruvica for 2 years and was also taking Dilantin for seizures. I was told Dilantin kept the Imbruvica from working properly so I went off Dilantin about 2 months ago and now my white count and lymphocytes have been climbing. Is that to be expected and is it working better or is the cancer
