Hello
After Venetoclax and Obinutuzumab I am mrd- both in PB and marrow.
I would like to get vaccination against ticks (TBE).
Has anybody experience if it will work in CLL patients.
Many thanks
Reinhard

I see that you write from Slovenia
Therefore I assume you are referring to Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE)..??
This is spread within Europe by ticks, but is NOT seen in the UK.
Mostly the ticks spreading TBE are found in Eastern Europe from about Eastern Switzerland / Austria and into Russia.
FIRSTLY. The ONLY vaccinations that someone with CLL should accept are those vaccinations that have a non-live component. Live component vaccines are NOT recommended.
Some years ago I asked the late Dr Terry Hamblin, a pioneer investigator into CLL, if I should be vaccinated for TBE and he very kindly did some investigations. He then confirmed that the usual vaccine for TBE was NOT a live vaccine, and therefore was safe for those of us with CLL.
Thus the IMPORTANT factor is to confirm that the vaccine is NOT a live vaccine and then proceed.
But generally the vaccines for TBE have proven to be safe.

I don't know about the tick. However, I wonder what you mean by mrd? How have side effects been with venetoclax?
