New here: prolapsed rectum and straining to do soft poos??
Sorry for long post and lots of poo details! My son suddenly started wetting the bed nearly every night a few weeks ago (he's nearly 7). He's had a few wet nights in the past but we'd never worried about it before. No UTI, so we started with an alarm. Then we realised he had been/was having soiling

My Dad Tracheostomy failed again
What was a good day yesterday where we managed to get smile and a kiss for the kids. Today his was agitated and uncomfortable and he managed to pull his feeding tube and the trach was leaking, he back in the ventilator and in light sedation. Tomorrow they hope to review it and may redo the Tracheostomy

Memory Lane Jar
I just wanted to share this wonderful idea! My daughter presented a "Memory Jar" to my Mom yesterday; I have to say it was an absolute home run! All of the grandchildren wrote 10 individual memories to share with Mom, and they were written on colored scrolls, wrapped with a ribbon and placed in the

Pleurx catheter?
I had a pleurodesis just under 3 months ago. It hasn't worked as I had hoped. I am not sure if I am a candidate for a pleurx catheter as it seems the fluid buildup in my lungs is slow, at least for the time being. I noticed that the fluid build up rapidly increases every third treatment after I have

Nearly 9, bedwetting
Hi, my son has struggled with bed wetting on and off since he was 6. At this stage, his grandad died and he moved schools. Since then he's regularly wet the bed. Since lockdown, he has been better and had a few weeks dry, but this week he's been wet 5 nights in a row. Any suggestions? He's never had

Tracheostomy
My husband is still sedated and on the tracheostomy. His oxygen level is still 35% and he requires the ventilator. It has been 5 weeks now since he is in icu and no progress and I am worried.

Chronic use of Senna
I have IBS-c and have used Senna fruit tablets, 2 at night fairly constantly over 6 months. Some research papers say it shouldn't be used chronically as it can cause a lazy bowel but others say there is no good evidence that Senna fruit can damage the colon. Has anybody any experience of long term use

Bedwetting
My ten year old had never been dry at night since 5 years of age. Over the last year it has improved considerably, not wet every night, though saying that this week he has so far! Usually tends to wet early morning(5-6am) we tried an alarm four years ago(via enuresis clinic) very briefly but he hated

Covid 19 and struggling to wake from sedation without Sat's going wild
Hi my father in law is in icu with covid 19. This is his 30th day in an induced coma. We thought we was going to lose him over the weekend as his trach had started bleeding into his lungs. Thankfully they have stopped the bleed. Everytime they try and wake him from sedation all his SAT's go all over

Be persistent, it pays off
Hi all, I hope you are all keeping safe and sane? Yesterday I received a call from my EP as my face to face appointment was cancelled for obvious reasons. Since my ablation in May 2018 my symptoms have been much improved, but not enough to let me live the life I want to given my age and I have a young

My Mom was in a medically induced coma and on a Ventilator for 4 weeks because of COVID-19.
My Mom has been awake for a few days and off sedation. She responds when I FaceTime her but I know my Mom and she seems confused and sometimes out of it. Is this normal and how long will it take for her to become totally aware again? Im praying this isn't permanent. :(

Co-vid 19 - third week in ICU for Mum
My Mum has been in ICU ventilated, and at some points on dialysis, for 17 days now. She is off antibiotics and medicine for her blood pressure at the moment. Last week she seemed to be making some progress on being weaned from the ventilation and sedation, but the doctors now seems to think they will

Need help in choosing which home dialysis- PD or HomeHemo
I live in Canada so I am not sure if
home
hemodialysis
is an option for other areas as PD seems to be the only home choice. Thank you kindly.

COVID: doesn't wake up from induced coma
My mom is 55y and has covid. She was put on ventilator since 31th of March. They turned off her sedation on 15th of April and she still didn't wake up. She has her eyes open but that's all. They said her lungs are better, she make dialysis every other day because her kidneys are not working properly

Is your child on 29mg senna too?
Hi, our lb is 6 and it's been along road of constipation and disimpactions for us. His paedeatrician has upped his senna to 20mg as his still has no sensation. We're reducing the cosmacol (macrogol) to balance this but he's soiling multiple times a day. He couldn't go to school even if they were open

Covid coverage triggering
Hi all, I hope you are staying as safe & well as can be in these scary times. I was just wondering whether anyone else is finding all of the coverage on TV regarding Covid quite triggering? It is of course very important that it is visible on TV for everybody to see what is going on in hospitals and
