Steroid injection before surgery

scheduled for hip replacement feb 20th, but back issues pain re spinal stenosis, degenerative disks, arthritis, very painful and worried about being able to do the exercises before and after surgery becausevbacknis so compromised, so seeing ortho on feb 13, and wondering about asking for steroid injection for back with only a week before surgery, stillon 4 mgs of prednisone as well

I think you need to discuss that with the surgeon doing the hip replacement with there being so little time between the two.

Hi. Ive just had a full hip replacement in August. I had to follow Rheumatologist instructions in my case. I had to go off my regular needles to myself, 2 weeks before & 2 weeks after surgery. My personal experience, follow your Rheumatologist what he or she says, in your case., Marlene

Oh so you were having steroid injections then? Are you on prednisone as well?
