Fruits and LCHF
One thing which puzzles me about LCHF and DietDoctor.com. LCHF is supposed to be what our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate. They must have had a strenuous time hunting and gathering, climbing trees and running from wild animals. He was not an agriculturist. However, what prevented him from gathering fruits

I have recently been on Atenolol and I think it doesn't suit me. It was for my high blood pressure, which has remained high while I have been taking them. The GP has now prescribed Doxazosin 1 mg. I have not taken one yet as I am very apprehensive. I am not good with any medication! Do you think the

I have just found this community and don't know whether I belong to this one or not. I have Limited Systemic Sclerosis which has now progressed to Pulmonary Hypertension. There aren't that many in this country that suffers with it, only around 6 to 8,000 in the UK. It affects the pulmonary artery

Using Amla/ Indian gooseberry
Has anyone got any experience of having used fresh amla juice to control diabetes? I also found that chromium and vanadium deficiencies can cause diabetes. Has anyone found any research on the subject?

Slow release diltiazem, Adizem versus Slozem etc
After seeing several posts referring to side effects from slow release diltiazem meds I thought it might be helpful to share this with you. I was prescribed 240mg of SL Diltiazem and was given Adizem for several cycles. I was not happy ( understatement! ) with the side effects and asked my GP to lower

Throat Tightness
Hi I have been on Levothyroxine Sodium for 15 years, it has been increased till I am now on 100mcg. Have had numerous endoscopies for Acid Reflux and was put on 20mg Omeprazole, I only took them when I really needed them. In 2013 I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure ( as it runs in family ) and

Unrelated: valium
Anyone have any experience with 20 mg of valium? If so, how did it make you feel? And did it have any effect on your rls? I'm having a minor procedure at the end of the month. Instead of putting me out, they're using local anesthesia for the pain and valium for my nerves. I'm worried all the valium

Butter vs. Margarine
I recently read that the belief about Margarine being more healthy for you than traditional butter might in fact not be true and that it's marketing over science. Apparently there has been growing research than advice in heart disease, cholesterol and consumption of fats/oils is plain wrong. Has anyone

What's different?
Am in 3rd week of holiday in Spain and inevitably there is a difference in my diet. We are eating out about every other day and I am not restricting myself as I do at home. One of the obvious differences is that everything has more salt. I have always hated salt, even as a child I avoided eating it
