Using Amla/ Indian gooseberry

Has anyone got any experience of having used fresh amla juice to control diabetes?

I also found that chromium and vanadium deficiencies can cause diabetes. Has anyone found any research on the subject?

1. A paper posted here yesterday suggests that Vitamin 'D' deficiency may not be the culprit for Type II. However, the paper with trial or sample size of just 36 perhaps considered just Vitamin 'D' because it did not mention about K1, K2 and Chromium

2. There are some research papers that see Chromium deficiency as correlated with Diabetes

3. Amla is amongst approximately fifty ingredients mentioned on Health Unlocked but I did not as yet find a scientific study that establishes its efficacy in controlled blind test experiments.

Amla has both chromium and vitamin C. Chromium can be absorbed only in the presence of vitamin C. Only trivalent Chromium is effective. None of us have checked our mineral deficiencies.

Most people are also deficient in vitamin D necessary for calcium absorption because we keep ourselves inside, cover up and use sunscreen. As we age, the capacity to produce vitamin D declines. Moreover our fear of fat is also a cause. And our dark skin need longer exposure.

This is what I understand.

Amla juice is advocated by many hospitals for patients after chemo or radiation because of its antioxidants .

It is also the ingredient in chyavanaprasam and boosts immunity.

I have tried Amla juice as it is now in season.

Whatever the reason, my highs are now much lower even with fruits.

I also incorporate emmer, fats, eggs, exercise and avoid regular wheat and rice.

Thanks for all your help

Regards

Susan

Thank you. It was not vitamin D by itself that was supposed to affect blood glucose metabolism, but D with calcium in Dairy. The D3 Supplements are to be taken with milk ( fat and calcium)

For the last ever so many years I have the habit of chewing half an Amla when I go for my morning walks on the old age presumption that it provides some immunity from common cold. So far I have not noticed any effect of it on my DIabites . Any way there was no harm. Moreover it is of high fibre content.

Only Amla Juice will not so effective .

For better results we recommend following Ayurveda Drugs

1) Chandra Prabha Vati

2) Giloy Ghanvati/ Sansamni Vati

Please take above tow Aaushadhies twice a day in morning and evening with water

3) Take Amla Churna and Dry Haldi Powder and Soonth Churna in equal Quantity an have one spoon of the mixture, an hour before lunch and dinner with water.

4) Triphala Churna : take 3 grams empty stomach (without tooth brush with) at 5 a.m. with 3-4 glass of normal water and 5 grams at 10 pm with luke warm water daily . This will boost your immunity, and control Tridosh and also very effective for side effects of Diabetes to Eyes.
