My Sugar Level are not coming under control

Hi, I am Kishore Ahuja, 58 years old and I am affected by diabetes from since 24 years. I take Galvus 50 in morning followed by glimistar m2 forte before lunch and dinner. From since last couple of months my sugar level are raised unexpectedly, fasting is coming around 200 and pp is coming above 300. I don't eat much of heavy meals anytime, rather just two chapatis in lunch and 1 chapati in dinner and light breakfast. I have seen the doctor and he asked me to go for some tests for which reports will be arrived tomorrow.

Anything else that I can do to control the levels?

I was trying to avoid insulin as piercing daily injections is I see as painful and I have to go out of town for 2-3 days every month, at that time it feels cumbersome as I have to manage it alone.

Bangaru, you are taking insulin, don't you feel pain with injections or it becomes a normal habit?

i think there may be some invisible infections, if infection is there than we can see these abnormalities, recently i was suffering from Pneumonia for 8-10 days, during those day my FBS WAS 200 AND PPBS WAS >300 after controle it came to normal, this is only my personnel case i am not generalizing

Dear

Pl.take all medicine as per your doctor prescribed. But to control diabetes,

Take every day morning after brush 20 leaves of bilipatra generally use for lord Siva,20 leaves of tulsi patra,

50 gram green haldi available in vegetable in winter season ,Mix it in mixture, Prepare juice filter it take it every day for 21 day. you may control the sugar Laval.

If comes down & if you require more control than go for second same dose for21days.NB: Before starting inform your doctor.

I am taking daily walk in the morning for about an hour but still my sugar is not under control. No sugary things throughout the day, no excess of diet...

About one and a half year ago, I met with an accident and that time due to raised sugar levels, doctor switched me to insulin for abt a month and when I switched back to medicine it was all ok.

I had seen a doctor recently and he changed the dose of one galvus50 to 2 tabs: One in morning before breakfast and one in night after dinner with glimister m2 forte in lunch.

For whole day its difficult but u can limit to 75g carbs daily

Did you take any medicines recently? Some, especially those for acid reflux, can send blood sugar levels up.

Are you a fresh retiree? Have you faced any lifestyle changes recently like retirement, marriage of children, bereavement etc.?

Could be stress.

I take telmed ah for blood pressure. That's all

Medicine can only do so much; you need to control your carb intake. Keep your carbohydrate intake between 10 and 14 portions per day (1 portion = 10g carbohydrate), ideally 3 meals x 4 carb portions. Follow this link uk.sitestat.com/diabetes/we...

Eat low GI carbs, reducing intake of fructose too which glycosylates haemoglobin seven times as much as glucose. Follow this link glycemicindex.com/

Make up the balance of your meals with natural, additive-free, unprocessed protein (palm-size) and fat foods such as meat, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, cheese, coconut oil, palm oil (not hydrogenated), olive oil, and butter.

Hi Guys...thanks for all your support. Today finally, I am getting on control from higher values. Yesterday PP levels were 180 and today's fasting level were 149. These are high but they are coming under control from medicines only. I've switched from galvus 50 to galvus met50/500 in the lunch and glimister m2 forte in breakfast and dinner. I am taking methi dana(fenugreek seeds) daily from 2-3 days empty stomach in the morning and a walk of 3-4 kms thereafter.

Hoping to cut more to normal in further days and if it doesn't, I may have to increase the galvus met to two times.

I hope galvus met doesn't has any side effects?

Had the doctor given you any information about side effects and when to take the medication when he/she put you on it?

Hi thefundu,

Your HbA1c must be very high; in that case you will find it extremely difficult to maintain proper blood sugar level. The 24 years would have deteriorated your health a lot. There is no quick/magic solution.

People take things very lightly in the case of early days of Diabetes either due to ignorance or due to misguidance/cheating or due to unfounded/improper courage & run frantically once damage is happened.

IF ANY ONE START LWMDR, DO NOT STOP PRESENT MEDICATION ABRUPTLY; IT WILL CAUSE THE BLOOD SUGAR TO SHOOT UP. TAPER DOWN (REDUCE) MEDICINES GRADUALLY DEPENDING ON REDUCTION OF BLOOD SUGAR, AS PER YOUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE OR BASED ON YOUR JUDGEMENT IN CONSULTATION WITH ME. LWMDR is not just drinking Long Wheat Mash, it is a Diet Regimen. One has to follow associated restrictions also since Long Wheat does not have muscle power like chemical drugs.
