Olmesartan medoxomil - a type II ATR antagonist, or angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). . . . . used to reduce high blood pressure.
Is anyone reading this ( - or known to him/her) taking this ? A "yes" from one to two members would be very helpful and most appreciated ! This is available as a number of generics, including Olmecip by Cipla and Olmesmart by Dr Reddy's. Sid Arthur

Anyone here on Diltiazem for pulmonary arterial hypertension?
Hi, consultant wants me to start taking Diltiazem (a calcium channel blocker) as I proved to be vasoreactive to it during my last right heart catheterisation. I am concerned about the dose he wants me to work up to in a very short space of time...especially as it does NOT agree with the guidelines issued

Am I worrying over nothing? FH?
So I bought the book The Great Cholesterol Con. Had a little read through. Can't say I agreed with alot of what he said. He mentioned FH. I couldn't understand what he was saying about it, but he did say something about 5 year olds dying from chd. Well this alarmed me. My uncle at 51 had a heart attack

Diabetes and high blood pressure . . . .
Is there an association between diabetes and high blood pressure - or a known correlation? High blood pressure can be reduced by many drugs, including anti-hypertensive agents in the sub-group known as angiotensin type II receptor blockers. One drug in this sub-group is olmesartan, available as a generic

Slimming World my last desperate attempt 😔
Well after trying calorie counting with the NHS plan and the LCHF diet and realising that neither of them would suit me long term so they would be just diets and not lifestyle changes and eventually I would have to come off them and get back into that old familiar viscous circle we all know of piling

Hello, I have been doing some research on how thyroid issues can have an effect on one's cardiovascular health, and was curious to see if anyone on HU has been affected? Almost all of the studies state that undiagnosed/underdiagnosed thyroid issues, can affect cholesterol, BP, LDL, and other lipid

The KISS Principle.
With the toing and froing of the various regimes presented here there is one unassailable fact. If you are a type 2 diabetic it is because of your diet and lifestyle, and unless you identify and eliminate the foods that have caused your disease then you are faced with a lifetime of medicines and a deterioration
