Lining update!
Just a quick update for those of you with lining issues 😆. I've managed to get to 6.6 today on my first scan which is a record for me on the first scan! Just waiting to see whether we will go ahead with an FET or they want to see me again in a few days. I've been taking 4x progynova, 1 x patch every

Look after yourself!
Hi everyone, as you will know from previous posts, my hubby has decompensated liver and is still drinking, with an "If I die, I die" attitude. So today saw me at the GP for myself (felt a bit self indulgent tbh) and I've got low haemoglobin, low vitamin levels, possibly due to Covid a couple of months

Acamprosate and Liver Cirrhosis
I have had cirrhosis for five years. Recently I was prescribed Acamprosate to prevent the urge to drink (I fell off the wagon three months ago). I have been taking Acamprosate for the last three months and find them very effective. The instructions state that I can take this medication for up to

Worried about Hepatitis C
I used a friends razor 10-12 years ago before a night out and never thought of it again. Then, during covid my mental health declined and I started worrying that maybe I passed my friend hepatitis c and I need to tell them (I don't talk to them anymore) I had the antibody test recently and it came

Update - partner in ICU with ARLD
For those of you who were kind enough to follow and comment on my recent posts, I have to sadly tell you that my 43 year old partner and father of our 10 month old passed away from multiple organ failure caused by decompenstaed ARLD on Saturday. He was so sick the Royal Free wouldn’t move him to their

Trying to understand tests
I just had a positive antibody test for hep C. However, the PCR did not detect antibodies. I think this means I had hep C in the past (though I didn't know it), but don't have now. Do I still need treatment?

I am 55 years. I have undergone liver scan and other tests on October 4, 2022. My doctor told the liver condition already progressed to early cirrhosis. Is there anyone please advise me how can I reverse the condition. Has the condition already gone beyond the control? Kader

Liver Transplant consent letter & liver types
hi, my partner has just been accepted onto the transplant list with a UKELD of 56 and blood group A (this is relevant as have been told the wait for this group is shorter). He has just had the consent form and agonised for ages over which boxes to tick in terms of what livers to accept. It seems so ungrateful

What pox do you choose?
I choose the monkeypox, with which we will get to know very briefly for general culture. I ask people who don't like to read about diseases to refrain or read at their own risk. The idea is only one - knowledge is power! Monkeypox and blood cancer - read more here: https://bloodcancer.org.uk/news

GREAT video on PMB! If you are thinking about buying any photobiomodulation red light therapy device... this is a MUST WATCH
Don't throw away your money on the cheap, junk 'red light toys' (about $300 or so) that promise a lot... but are totally worthless. Watch these two neuro scientists explain why: https://youtu.be/iZbP2IVekh0 Now watch this one and get the best info I've seen yet in one short video on the power of

This might be of interest for anyone who struggles to raise their iron levels or is frequently anaemic or nearly anaemic
I should point out that this paper is old. It was first published in 2000. The second thing I want to point out is that it has 176 references, which to my mind is quite bizarre, but some of them could be of interest. And thirdly, the link is to the abstract only but there is an option to "Save PDF

PBC/AIH1 Positive
Just as I was wrapping my head around my April PBC diagnosis and taking Urso (which does seem to me improving my liver enzyme levels) a liver biopsy also confirmed that I am also positive for autoimmune hepatitis type 1 (AIH1). I know PBC and other autoimmune conditions tend to run in packs. Does anyone

imuran
I have been on Imuran 50mg for over 3 years and will be on it another 2 for autoimmune hepatitis. I also have PBC and take ursodiol for that. Imuran has lowered my liver levels and has kept them stable for me. It suppresses your immune system but it’s manageable. My dr is hoping that after being on it

imuran /Azathioprine
i’ve been started on Imuran/Azathioprine, for arthritis. I will have to be monitored closely, with labs due to my PBC. I was wondering if anyone else had their liver enzymes(inflammation), Get better while on this medication? My hepatologist, and Rheumatologist . Both agree, that if monitored closely

Taking a Long Haul flight with Varices?
Hi everyone, This is my first post here - and grateful to find you all! I have stage one liver chirrhosis as a result of having hepatitis C - which I cleared in 2016 - In January this year after an episode of finding black stools, I had an investigative endoscopy finding 4 grade 2 oesophagus varices

Worrying complacency...
I see that former Prime Minister John Major has referred to the avoidable infection of many people with HIV as a result of using infected blood product factor 8 as "incredibly bad luck" and that "no amount of compensation you can give that can actually compensate for what had happened to them."

Liver Biopsy and AI
Hello everyone! My initial diagnosis is F3-F4 alcohol-related fibrosis (but they were leaning more towards F4 cirrhosis with 17.8 kPa reading). My antibody markers were continuously high in the past 1.5 years. My doctor suggests liver biopsy to determine if this can be related to AIH at the same time
