I have been on Imuran 50mg for over 3 years and will be on it another 2 for autoimmune hepatitis. I also have PBC and take ursodiol for that. Imuran has lowered my liver levels and has kept them stable for me. It suppresses your immune system but it’s manageable. My dr is hoping that after being on it for 5 years it will put me in remission because that is what the studies and data have shown. I initially had to go on steroids to lower liver levels and then started the Imuran. Steroids were terrible and I dread the day I have to go back on them.

Thank you so much for responding. I am glad you have had good results on Imuran. My doctor told me a lot of people cannot tolerate it due to G.I. upset. I just started one pill per fay and then will titrate up to three per day. So far so good for me.

I’ve been taking urso for 10 yrs, and it keeps my numbers in check. I’ve had no ill effects and remain asymptomatic.

Hi I have been on Urso since 1995 and I am happy with my liver results and my specialist is very happy with my Liver test results. I wish you well and don't be afraid to take Ursodeoxycholic Acid with plenty of water. All the best. Mulberry
