Hi all, I've been diagnosed with hep c. My specialist has offered me treatment but warned of harsh side effects. Can anybody with experience please tell me how bad these side effects actually are. Can I still work? My job is quite physical & I can't afford to lose it. The newer meds without the side

ready for some treatment
I made my husband get a physical last year. His liver enzymes were elevated so they did a liver biopsy and diagnosed him with Hep C with mild damage of the liver. So little damage that they did not even treat his Hep. We just went yesterday for his yearly CT of his Liver and was called back to the hospital

Stage 2 to Stage 4 in 13 months
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 PBC in 2004 and I am a rare case because I am ANA negative. I had an MRI done in December and the results showed I have moved from stage 2 to stage 4 in 13 months. Had a biopsy at Mayo in Rochester on Monday (4 days ago) and results are still not in. Anyone else had the disease

Hi ladies, It is one month post op exchange surgery and feeling well. My scars are healing and staying positive. I would love your opinion: What works better to heal the scars? Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, or any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey guys. I started my health & Fitness journey Jan 01. 2016. I have an autoimmune disorder ( body is rejecting my liver), that requires Mercaptopurine to keep it under control. Being a chemo drug, it plays havoc with everything else. I was diagnosed in 2010, and its taken this long to get it under

Is my doctor doing enough?
I was formally diagnosed with chronic hepatitis b two and half years ago. I'm 62 years old. To cut a long story short, looks like I've had it since 1975. Actually, I attend one of the London hospitals you suggest. So far they monitor my viral load and I've had two scans. Recently I asked whether I should

PBC diagnosis
Hi I had AIH for 5 years but recently ive been feeling much better and my alt readings have been so low but after a routine scheduled biopsy I was told I have PBC as well. I know I could have had worse news and I am thankful but just feel a bit low. I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this

Expanded access to syringe service programs needed to limit HCV, HIV infections
People who inject drugs are visiting syringe service programs (SSP) at a higher rate than they were a decade ago, and there has been large decreases in HCV and/or HIV infections in minorities, but that's not the case for whites. Better access to SSP is required, especially in the rural white areas to

Hepatitis B and Isolation
Running the Freephone UK Hep B national Helpline for 12 years has taught us a lot about hepatitis patient needs and when we audited 1000 callers over an 9 month period we found their isolation was actually the main problem. We found 54% of patients had never had ANY discussion with anyone about their

Recently diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis :(
Hi everyone, I am new here. I have autoimmune disease and I recently have been diagnosed with AIH. I was on prednisone and due to the awful side effects, my doctor switched me to Budesonide--yet I'm still experiencing horrible side effects along with Imuran. These drugs are literally sucking the life

Vitamin E rich foods
Hi, I recently saw some advice from NICE to GP's treating people with, or at risk of, NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease) suggesting a diet rich in Vitamin E. I don't have NAFLD but I'm interested in diet and how we can support our liver, our systems, in managing PBC so I googled Vitamin E rich
