Worried about husband....
I'm here asking for some serious advice. I'm getting more and more worried as each day goes by and I have no-one to ask, so I've turned to this forum in the hope someone can give me some positive help. Just over a year ago, we came back from a holiday abroad and my husband noticed that he couldn't shake

Brain fog, Trimethoprin and asthma?

In patients such as Mrs J.D. where the burden of illness is becoming intolerable, I have suggested a trial of 2-4 weeks (depending on response)
Heparin
injections using low molecular weight (LMW)
heparin
(which has replaced ‘old’
heparin
because of its good safety profile).

Does this sound like Meniere's disease?
After the birth of my second child, I started getting really sensitive to noise. I developed an upper respiratory cold for 2 months with a chronic cough that eventually subsided. After the cold ended, my ears started ringing for brief seconds and felt like they were equalizing. I also became very sensitive

Any Experience With ECOS/ Activase Drip Block Buster ( clot site direct Activase bath?)
Here's his question: Since your INR is over 3.5, and your hematologist does not feel comfortable using systemic
heparin
in any form, I'd like to find a rapid way to dissolve that DVT to open that occluded vein up. There is a device called an ECOS that is threaded into the arm .

New audiology doctor
I was just called by my new referral, got to have another hearing test. I just love to be reminded of how deaf I am. Maybe I'll get my left hearing aid this time.

I have a history of blood clot in brain due to this I took

Struggling with Pulsatile Tinnitus

High Frequency Hearing Test
Does anyone know where I can get a hearing test done that covers frequencies higher than 8 kHz ? I have tried some of the "online" tests but results are inconsistent. Would somewhere like Boots or Specsavers do such a test ?

Waiting for results of MRI, Google has taught me so much compassion...
I am in the UK. I was surprised to be referred just under a month ago for an MRI after a 'casual' visit to the Dr regarding a reoccurring loud strange tone in my left ear. I have had the tone for around six to 12 months (my memory is really poor and I cannot be sure when it started). The Dr said it was

Is it normal for Doctors to tell you not to worry if you tell them you think you have an additional clot in a superficial vein?
They never administered an actual
heparin
drip. They never called in a hematologist. So many mistakes were made. I had to call in the director of nursing and work with her to get the doctor to listen to me. She was lovely.

Stopping NOACs before ablation is bad for the brain
This occurred even with bridging with
heparin
. The article says uninterrupted NOACs are fine and as good as uninterrupted warfarin. However the old method of ablations was to interrupt NOACs. There may still be EPs in the UK who do interrupt before an ablation and bridge with
heparin

Once the ball gets rolling...
Hi there, I can go months without having anxiety. But once the ball gets rolling, why can't I get it to stop? It's like my nerves get shorter and start searching for things to worry about, as if I actually enjoy this suffering. First it started wth my daughter getting headaches in the sun, at camp, while
