Ablation a major disappointment
Good morning. I am a 66 year old male have always been very healthy no health problems active, outdoors, gym etc. people still think I’m iin my 50’s and until ablation a year and half ago was in better shape than a lot of 30 something out there. I had mild afib and was on 1/2 a motroplol twice a day

I want to say sorry from the medical profession
Hi all many of you have read my story but for those who haven’t a quick recap. Totally out of the blue quadruple heart bypass 7 weeks ago then a heart attack 5 weeks ago, I also found out I had a heart attack probably about 10 weeks ago, so obviously I’ve still got a long way to go with the physical

moderate mitral regurgitation
my echo said I had moderate mitral regurgitation. I have been short of breath and fatigued. My EP has me on Flecainide for A Fib but read you shouldn’t take it if your heart is not structural sound. Does moderate mitral regurgitation qualify as not having a structural sound heart. Tried to look it up

Tastebuds
It’s now gone more than five weeks since I had a triple heart bypass and my tastebuds are still messed up. From what I’ve read this happens in a minority of cases and is usually caused by anaesthetic rather than post op medication. It’s getting me down slightly, since I’m finding fruit and wine, especially

Follow up RF Ablation
I had my pre assessment yesterday and I was really impressed with the level of detailed information I got from the arrhythmia nurse . He spent an hour going through the whole procedure including drawing the heart on paper and explaining mapping and controlling coagulation over the possibly 3 hours of

After Heart Surgery
I am 65 years old and had minimal invasive aortic valve replacement in April 21. They went in through the right side of my chest and the op was a success. I am having an ongoing problem of water retention which I am now finding quite worrying. The GP has given me Furosemide water tablets 20mg to take

Ablation advice
My EP has booked me in for an ablation within next six weeks (Sept 13) but didn’t explain why I need it. It took my cardiologist a year to consider arrhythmia and a further year for an EP to investigate it via loop monitor. I’ve been told it’s a rhythm and rate issue, it’s PAF, it’s ectopics, it’s

can I still do it
I completed couch to 5 k after recovering from a heart operation 6 years ago. I have since been diagnosed with arrhythmia and suffered a knee injury. I will be 70 in a months time. Can I regain my fitness and get back to jogging, or should I call it a day.

Heart Surgery, Lisinopril and symptoms
Hi all, I am waiting on heart surgery after being diagnosed with severely leaking aortic valve back in Dec 2021. I have an enlarged heart as a result but my ejection fraction was 64% at the time of the MRI (Feb 2022). My main symptoms are visible neck pulsations that I can also feel in my groin

Help needed interpreting ECG.
The following ECG was taken today prior to a planned angiogram following chest pains (which didn't take place owing to an issue with sedation). It apparently shows left bundle branch block, left axial deviation and inverted T waves. Does anyone know what the significance of these three is? Or how

SVT new diagnosis.
Hi I'm a new member I had a funny turn in March where I ended up in A&e with heart rate of 250. I was diagnosed with SVT. Had another episode this week. Heart rate got to 260. When they tried to bring it down it just kept flipping back to tachycardia. After several hours and a cardiologist with me

ET accelerated progression
hi. I have had ET since 2004, treated with varying doses of HU and in later years also Peg. Apart from unstable platelets I have been relatively symptom free. Until this year! I have definitely struggled with HU, getting terrible mouth sores. I had a bone marrow biopsy recently which has confirmed

Ectopic Beats and AF
Joys!!! After having weird chest sensations that make me feel dizzy and nauseous dr has decided I have ectopic beats. This may be while I’ve felt funny recently. I couldn’t decided if it was anxiety or my heart. Other than the AF my heart is structurally sound (for now) so any advice about ectopics
