psychological problems since heart bypass
hi all, please can anyone offer me any advice on how best to support my 70yr old father following triple bypass surgery. He is having frequent nightmares and panic attacks following surgery. He has never suffered with his mental health before. Is this normal?what shall I do?how can I support him?

Hi to you all. I have had a couple of trips to A&E end of June 2022 and beginning of July 2022 as an ECG at my GP surgery showed narrow complex regular tachycardia. I was seen by a Cardiologist who said I had Paroxysmal Atrial Flutter. I had bloods taken which were unremarkable" . I was prescribed

Ablation update and some good news re our NHS
Thought I would give an update on my ablation and subsequent treatment. As already posted, on 5th July I had a long awaited ablation in effect this was a second ablation in a period of about 7 years. This time it was s cryo ablation so just isolated the pulmonary veins. After an initially good 2 weeks

open heart surgery
Hi guys Just wondered if anyone has had surgery for either replacing or repairing a mitral valve and atrium valve? How were you after surgery and how long until you felt fairly ‘normal’ Thanks in advance.

CRTD and pacing
hi everyone, I had a CRTD pacemaker with defib inserted about 18 days ago as I had a cardiac arrest in hospital after being given a loading dose of digoxin whilst on Dronederone, following a cardioversion that initially worked but then put me into afib with high heart rate. I’ve heart failure now with

fast heart rate but normal blood pressure
Her BP and oxygen levels are normal but all the medication they’re giving her to reduce the heart rate is causing the heart rate to go faster not slower … she is generally in good
health
but did have issues with her
heart
first a few years ago before being fine for three years.

Anticoagulants and PPIs
Hi everyone, I have just had an annual medication review over the phone with a pharmacist. I am taking Apixaban 5mg twice daily together with low dose Flecainide (50mg x 2 daily) and Bisoprolol (2.5mg daily). The latter to offset any possible side effects from Flecainide!! I have been in sinus rhythm

Pituitary gland not producing TSH
The doctors all seem to think this dosage of T3 will cause a
heart
attack, even though I have no other
health
conditions than hypothyroidism. Is this probable?

new here… wide awake and struggling
I’m new and I don’t really know if this will help me… I go through phases of worrying about different
health
things. Right now I’m hyper fixated on my
heart
. I started working out a few times a week about 2 months ago and it’s been going really well.

Ablation a major disappointment
Good morning. I am a 66 year old male have always been very healthy no health problems active, outdoors, gym etc. people still think I’m iin my 50’s and until ablation a year and half ago was in better shape than a lot of 30 something out there. I had mild afib and was on 1/2 a motroplol twice a day

Erectile Dysfunction
Still having Ed problems. I was given Viagra/Sindafil which didn't really do that much. I believe Cialis is better, quicker and longer lasting. Must contact GP as it's making me feel a bit depressed. Have to use pps to get off. Anyone else in the same situation?

I want to say sorry from the medical profession
Hi all many of you have read my story but for those who haven’t a quick recap. Totally out of the blue quadruple heart bypass 7 weeks ago then a heart attack 5 weeks ago, I also found out I had a heart attack probably about 10 weeks ago, so obviously I’ve still got a long way to go with the physical

Tastebuds
It’s now gone more than five weeks since I had a triple heart bypass and my tastebuds are still messed up. From what I’ve read this happens in a minority of cases and is usually caused by anaesthetic rather than post op medication. It’s getting me down slightly, since I’m finding fruit and wine, especially
