Can anyone recommend a good supplement to take to try and improve heart health/function?
Hi everyone, Just wanted to ask if anyone has tried taking any supplements to improve
heart
health
/function and if so, has it helped? Or has anyone tried taking something natural daily to improve heart function and had positive results? I’m looking into this for my mum.

I had an ablation a few weeks ago, I'm doing ok, except for the fatigue, shortness of breath and cough. I am in sinus. I believe the above issues are related to Metoprolol I take 25mg x 2 daily, Flecainaide 50mg 2 daily and 5mg Eliquis 2 daily. I have my follow up appt next week with my EP. I'm really

Struggling to put on weight
Hi I wonder if there is anybody struggling to put on weight in spite of having 1800-2000 calorie input a day. On this site I usually find only posts in which people complain of not being able to lose weight. I have persistent AF, heart failure and CKD stage 3a. Whenever I ask my doctor why I cannot

Wirral support group?
My dad is 6 weeks post open heart surgery and is looking to join a local support group. It looks like the BHF one has closed down on the Wirral. Are there any others in the Wirral please?

Leadless pacemakers
I live in North Carolina and I have sick sinus syndrome and afib as well as Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy. I just learned a few weeks ago about the newer leadless pacemakers. I understand they are becoming the standard as compared to the wired versions with leads. I had a dual chamber pacemaker implanted

GP appointment postponed
My GP appointment has been postponed until 18th July, I wasn't offered an appointment with another doctor. This means I have to postpone the private endo appointment too as it required me to get a referral from my GP. I will do a full thyroid blood tests when I've been on my meds fior 6 weeks. Is there

Post Ablation Diagnosis
I have been very fortunate and had my Afib ablation in Leicester in May. I had excellent treatment with very minimal side effects from the procedure and am back doing exercise and best of all, no episodes of Afib - so all very positive even though it is very early days. My follow up appointment is in

Low Blood Pressure and Heart Rate
Hello All. Does anyone have any advice on this? My EP agreed I could come off Flecainide and just use it as PIP. However, he said I should stay on Apixaban. I had thought it was Flecainide causing the unpleasant side effects of dizziness, breathlessness and lightheadedness as well as stiff aching legs

Calling all patients who have had a heart valve surgery or a TAVI
Hello lovely ones! Some of you may know me already - I had a 2x CABG last Jan, aged 34. Well today is my 36th birthday! I am happy and healthy :D The reason I am posting is that I am hopefully moving in to the world of cardio industry, I was previously in clinical nutrition and artifical feeding.

thank you all for the advice it really helped as I was getting a bit panicked about the high heart rate and not sure what to do. I haven’t taken myself to A&E yet! I took a Kardia ecg this morning and sent it to the hospital - came up as unclassified- just had a call back to say it is A-flutter- I

Tacycardia - how long before I go to A and E?
Well this is a new problem for me. I have AF and in the past year episodes have become much more frequent to the point where the ‘A’ word has been discussed and I am now on the waiting list for an ablation. During all the years with AF I have rarely had a problem with a fast heart beat - up to now

Short pulse like pain in chest
occasionally ( say once a month at most) I get a short spell of pulse like ripples of discomfort in chest ( normally left side). They last 2/3 seconds at most and over say a 10 min period. They aren’t always associated with just having eaten/drink and are t accompanied by sternum pain. I have had an

Actual appointment face to face with an actual human!
After being sent to A&E last November by GP, diagnosed with AF and discharged with meds, then an echocardiogram beginning of March, I have an actual appointment booked with an arrythmia nurse end of July! Still a little bit in shock that I'll get to talk to someone! Came about because my GP wanted to

pulsing discomfort in chest
I have been diagnosed with oesophagitis following a endoscopy. From time to time I get what I can only describe as uncomfortable ( not hugely painful) radiating pulses in my chest ( normally left side but not exclusively). They last say 2/3 seconds but in waves of about elapsed time of say 10–15 mins

Now need a stent or bypass
I posted on here a bit ago that I have been tired and out of breath ever since my 5th ablation last August. My cardiologist put it down to the Bisoporol I was taking but 3 months ago after seeing him and complaining he sent me for a ultrasound scan. All was OK then I wrote to him saying I am not

I found the cause of last month's collapse
After further research on the symptoms of last month's collapse and their possible causes, I had a suspicion that the culprit was the filet mignon. Regular food poisoning should have left some traces of the causative organism - none were found after testing blood, urine, etc. The restaurant is a high
