Gall bladder surgery
I was hospitalised last June for 10 days as I had an infected gall bladder and scans showed I had a large gall stone.I was put on intravenous antibiotics and pain killers. Fast forward 7 months and no further problems I had a phone call from the hospital giving me a date of 5th February for surgery

open Heart Surgery
hi. I was born with a hole in the heart but it was not detected until I was 32 namely 34 years ago. I had open heart surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital in 1984. It went well and recovery was quick. It takes time to build up stamina to return to normal. By the time you leave hospital you should be able

Ramdom flips from bradycardia to tachycardia.
First Post. Hi everyone I'm a 64 year old male livng in Yorkshire, England. I first became aware of issues with my heart over 40 years ago, my wife noticed my heart would miss a beat every now and again. At some point a doctor told me I had an ectopic beat and that it wasn't anything to worry about,

Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
I caught a bad cold (tested negative for COVID) in November 2022 and on the day that started, I went into AFib. I wasn’t given any treatment because I was already on Warfarin due to my aortic valve replacement in March 2015. I finally saw a consultant about the AFib in May 2023 and was put on Isosorbide

Preparing for Open Heart surgery
So last year I was diagnosed with a 2cm ASD and was awaiting surgery on the 5th January via catheter. ra associated eye ulcers
hi everyone, I posted in this community quite a while ago about an ulcer in my eye which the rheumatologist said was caused by the ra. At the time, I was given some very helpful advice and information by Kags1068. Since then, I have had 4 more ulcers (my eyes take it in turns), and am currently in week

The use of thyroid hormone liothyronine in patients with heart failure - Another Pearce-linked Trial

Severe Dilated Cardiomyopathy with heart failure - and now AF - anyone else out there like me?
I have severe dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure but had been doing well despite the inner chaos. I played tennis 5 times a week, kicked a football with my children, took long walks, and was able to run up the stairs to my flat. After the metapneumovirus triggered AF 6 weeks ago I stopped being

Robotic surgery?
My mitral valve is deteriorating and surgery is in my future. I’m 72, in good health besides aFib and my valve. I’m interested in robotic surgery and if I would qualify. Curious what other folks experience is.

Aortic Stenosis and Angina
hi I had an echocardiogram in August and got the result in September . The local hospital has been tasked with doing further tests and paperwork before handing me over to Leeds which is apparently the best hospital around for cardiac care . I have now had 48 hour ECG plus a CT angiogram which included

I have severe
health
anxiety
and am freaking out. I did call the ambulance a couple days ago and they said everything seemed fine. I made a Dr appointment but they couldn’t get me in until august 9th. I’m hoping it’s just anxiety related and nothing serious.
