Hi all, I'm a Newbie here.I have Asthma and COPD. I'm back on my Relvar ( after a brief change to Trimbow) which made my breathing worse. I just got prescribed an additional inhaler yesterday ( Incruse Elipta) I took the one puff yesterday evening and within a couple of hrs I was having palpations.
I then woke up at 4am in a panic with my heart racing and thumping. It was awful! I do have a leaking Mitral valve and now I don't want to take Incruse again.
Have others experienced this?
I'm in Scotland.
Thanks ,Kiki.

Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't help with your query. That sounds a horrible experience and it sounds as if you are wise to stop using that med. You need to speak to whoever prescribed it.
I use it, along with Symbicort. It has enabled me to hugely reduce the Symbicort about which my consultant was concerned that I was taking too much of it (it contains steroids).
I agree with Peege about stopping the Incruse Ellipta until you can get advice. I hadn't thought the Incruse Ellipta was having any side effects for me but now Ive read your post it has made me think about two episodes Ive had of SVT (superventricular tachycardia) with heart beat of 164 per minute. Both happened after starting the Incruse Ellipta last summer - so maybe, but they were not as strong as what happened to you.
I will be checking this and you should too especially as your reaction was so instant and intense. Good luck.
Hi O2, I have a Cardiologist because I have a leaking Mitral valve. I had an app on 25th March for my e.c.g and my echogram. I'm well monitored and on meds to keep my heart rate low. I dread to think what my heart rate would have been without the meds after the Incruse incident. Thank you for the good wishes. 😊
Hi Kiki, I have taken Relvar and Incruse for a number of years with no problem. Like you I found Trimbow made me worse. Defo get back on to Doctors or resp team.I am in Scotland too, welcome to the forum.
I was given Trimbow which made my breathing worse I went back on my original treatment which is fine.I take Seretide 500 Accuhaler& Seebri breezhaler .Hope this helps.
Hi Kiki, I tried Incruse Ellipta last year. I have great sensitivity to most medications and really struggle with inhalers. I’m now very severe emphysema and on oxygen so it was time to try a new inhaler to see if I could improve. I started taking it once a week and gradually increased it to every other day over about 8 months. Then I took it every day. Almost immediately I developed palpitations and a deadening pain in my left arm. I saw my gp who said stop for a few days and then go back to every other day. I tried but it was no good the palpitations were back as soon as I had it so stopped it altogether. I’m about to try spiriva again but only one puff every few days and see if I can develop a tolerance. If I were you I would not use the Incruse again. Speak to your gp and trial a different one.
Like you I have asthma and COPD. I was taking Advair for years with no problem. Then I was switched to Breo Ellipta and more recently Incruse Ellipta was added to the Breo. I told my pulmonologist that the Incruse wasn’t helping my breathing at all, in fact, it seemed to be getting worse so he told me to stop taking it. I’m in Canada but I wish you all the best in Scotland.
