Tired all of the time now.,,
I am sorry if I am repeating myself but all though I am 80 years old, up until this winter I was fully independent, I drive a car, and I could work a small allotment. I am now becoming breathless without exertion and I tend to nap anytime that I sit down. I have seen a Cardiologist this month and am

Open Heart Surgery Groups
Hi there. I live in Brighton and I recently had open heart surgery (at The Royal Brompton in London) Does anyone know of any support groups for people who have been through similar surgery. I am in my 40s but would love to have people to chat to of any age who have been through the same thing. Thank

Finally diagnosed + Fluoxetine help
Today I finally went to a psychiatrist and got formally diagnosed with dysthymia. Not sure how to feel about it. On one hand, it sucks having this but in the other, now I know it is something else and not just me being dramatic and exagerating my feelings. Anyways, they gaved me Fluoxetine for 1 month

What a difference a new Cardiologist makes
Being ignored just makes my
health
anxiety
worse. Needless to say, the previous Cardiologist has been trying to contact me now, after 8 weeks of trying to speak to him. That in itself creates stress. Think he is afraid of complaint. I've asked hi secretary to ask him to he write to me.

Post surgery
Hello. I am 3 weeks after open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve. I am still wearing compression socks but for the last 3 days one of my ankles has been swallen. Is this normal weeks after surgery? Getting a GP appointment is almost impossible so wanted to know if anyone else experienced this.

Dentists
Hi everyone-I am due to have CABG July/August. I have a routing check up at dentist this month. I have read somewhere of a link between teeth/gums and heart disease. What are the risks, if any? Is there any chance of dental treatment delaying the heart operation? Thanks

An EP’s view on atrial fibrillation after his own experience
The lecture of EP John Mandrola’s testimonial made a huge difference when I was first diagnosed with the condition. The man knows what he’s talking about, because not only is he an experienced electrophysician, but he also experienced AF himself. I love to share his thoughts with this wonderful group

hello, I’m 31 (M) I had open heart surgery 3 years ago, I had what’s called a David’s procedure! A valve repair. I’d been doing really well until recently. I’ve recently undergone a couple tests and I’ve been informed I have heart block grade 2 & a regurgitated mitra valve, I’m due to have yearly

High Pulse Rate and Irregular Rhythm 3 days after Ablation
I had a cryo ablation at the JR on Friday. I was expecting to be feeling better today but my pulse is all over the place, anywhere between 80 and 140, and irregular. I feel like I'm back in full-on AF.. breathless, tired and light headed. I left a message describing my symptoms with the arrhythmia nurses

how do I wash my hair?
silly question I know but I’m due to have open heart surgery very soon. I’m a 38 year old woman with long, blonde, curly hair. Can anybody give me some advice on how you washed your hair post surgery? I have a good support network so can get help if needs be. Thanks in advance for any advice.

lemon sole with a chive sauce .
pan fried the fish two minutes each side in a little olive oil . Nice with a chive sauce over , used sour cream and a Dijon mustard (1/2 tsp) plus chives . No bones in the fish at M&S . My main meal today at 1330 . Is it better to have a smaller meal at 1730 than lunchtime to lose weight ? Thanks

Recent HF diagnosis
Hi, I was diagnosed with heart failure a couple of months ago when I woke up one morning struggling for breath with fluid in my lungs, having had virtually no previous symptoms. Looking back, maybe I was a bit short of breath over the last few months but did a sprint-distance triathlon 6 months ago so
