Open Heart Surgery Groups

Hi there. I live in Brighton and I recently had open heart surgery (at The Royal Brompton in London) Does anyone know of any support groups for people who have been through similar surgery. I am in my 40s but would love to have people to chat to of any age who have been through the same thing.

Hi I too had heart surgery at Brompton may 2022 and the team there have given me support when I've v needed some , mainly questions I've had on follow up meds ,this forum we are on also helped , contacting others on here who have fully recovered and rejoined their previous life pre heart surgery, I wish you well and a speedy recovery, if I can help you with any questions you may have please feel free to contact me

Hi, I'm nit sure what surgery you've had, but can highly recommend UK Aortic and Heart Defects Pre and Post surgery Facebook group. We have a Zoom support session every few weeks and the response to each and every post is quick always high and usually within minutes

Thanks Joanne. That sounds like one to explore. I had an aortic valve replacement.

It definitely sounds like the right group for you the. 443 members at the moment and about 90% have had or are waiting for aortic valve replacement
