Just wondered if anyone else is on this drug and whether it has helped their heart function, left ventricular disfunction in my husbands case My husband has recently been put on this drug just after his bnp blood test for heart failure to find as to what stage he is at . I was too scared to ask about his results today in case they were really high although on his meds notes it says stage 2 heart failure He has also been put on digoxin since this blood test . Thanks for any advice or info in advance .

My EP put me on it early in our relationship but after a few years my GP switch to losartan as it is cheaper but similar. EP said it would give my heart an easier time (Than what he didn't explain>)

Yes, put on candersartan, digoxin and dapaglifozin for stage 2 heart failure, caused by AFib. On Bisoprolol and Edoxaban for the AFib. This was a very effective combination which improves my heart function almost immediately.

Apart from the candersartan I take those same meds for the same reason as well as my usual old person meds. They have worked so far.

Yes my husband is on exactly the same tabs as you . Last August his heart function was 33% after his stroke so will be interesting to see if it has improvements

I'm seeing my EP on 26th and also waiting for a date for an echo. I have my fingers tightly crossed. I've had a few setbacks with some scary complications of my ablation in March, femoral artery got damaged and needed emergency surgery 10 days after and a 3 night hospitalisation. Recovery from that surgery in addition to the ablation is exhausting. I'm slowly trying to build up walking.

I’ve been on candesartan for 2 1/2 years. My EP, who I trust and like, says it will help me stay episode free following my ablation, for longer. My heart is apparently in pretty good condition for my age.

I ‘manage’ the side effects and would prefer to return to my previous bp med. My EP has left the choice to me, so I’m sticking with it .

Despite not having high BP or HF, I was given the very similar losartan as a "cardio-protective" after my ablation for atrial flutter. I also have something called left bundle branch block, which might have been why. I had no side effects from it at all.

I take Candesartan for high blood pressure. No side effects and it seems to be doing the trick 99% of the time.

I was on Candesartan for about 25 years for high blood pressure. It certainly worked with no side effects. I stopped taking it about 3 years ago as blood pressure back to normal/low.

I am having current problems with side effects taking effect after a number of years on various meds. with one of them being Candesartan. It was switched to Entresto but that is just as bad. I am currently programming when I take my meds both depending on my daily movements and monitoring as best I can any consequences.

I take candesartan and carvedilol and they’re definitely working to protect my heart. I have no deterioration to my LV. The drugs are working so well my cardiologist doesn’t want to see me for another 12 months. I was on 6 monthly visits!
