Fractured wrist
Good morning everyone. I need advice please. My partner managed to fall yesterday (fell off a high kerb while looking to avoid traffic) He’s fractured his left wrist and is now in plaster in a sling but been told he may likely need an operation to pin and plate it. He’s in a great deal of pain, understandably

Still Waiting
I’ve been in agony for ages, it all started last April, pain in my lower left side that started as a dull ache but just got progressively worse. It’s around the hip, buttocks, lower left leg and sometimes as high as under the rib cage. After keeping a pain diary I’ve noticed it does flare up around the

An unfortunate series of events
Hi I’m in a bit of a dilemma. Recently several things happened to me in quick succession. 1. My RA specialist ( locum ) advised me to reduce my MTX doseage. 2. I had a heart attack and my anti- inflammatory stopped ( naproxen ) I am now experiencing what I think is a flare ( shoulders / neck / back pain

Covid vaccine and methotrexate - interesting article 📰
Morning Peeps 🙂 Thought some of you might be interested in reading this article from The New Scientist 27/6/2022 It discusses stopping mtx for 2 weeks after a Covid vaccine, which I have read a lot about on here. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2326185-coming-off-methotrexate-doubles-antibody-levels-after-covid

My Jeff, a beautiful life
Sunday, June 26th, Jeff continued to rest at home. We were so very grateful that his pain seemed completely managed and we didn’t have to fret about his hurting. The hospice nurse visited around 10:00 a.m. and considering the circumstances, Jeff was “ok”. His oxygen levels were actually up, his heart

Do I have a hysterectomy?
I have suffered with pain since I was 11 years old and am now 38. I have had 2 coils, 2 laparoscopys, tried tri-cycling my combined pill for years, the mini pill, hormone injections and HRT. I have pain for 7-10days on a 2 weekly cycle and feel like my endo rules my life. I feel like I am not able to

At my asthma review I mention this about palpations so after a discussion tried flixotide 125 this was ok but developed bad
pain
in
head
not a headache as such so stopped it. I suggested a lower one in the beclamethasone to see if it helped.

In so much pain from passing large clots… I really hate my uterus. Fed up! 😢
My usual dose of painkillers isn’t working for my adenomyosis & Endo pain this month. I came on yesterday. I think this month is extra painful because I took the Norethisterone to delay my period for my holiday and I regret taking it so much if that’s what’s causing this unbearable pain. Been in tears

One week post op
Hi I donated a kidney Thursday 16th June.. Was out of hospital on the Saturday 18th..Friday out of bed, shuffling about on my feet, a lot of discomfort. Day of going home a slow walk and feeling very delicate. Felt every bump on being driven home. Next three days progressively better pain wise, though

Mri diffusion weighted
Hi everyone I hope you’re doing okay. I’ve had a letter today with an mri appointment I’ve been waiting for & it listed 3 scans, a pelvic mri and an abdominal mri which I’ve had numerous times but it also listed ‘mri diffusion weighted’ which I’ve never had or even heard of before. I tried to google

Muscles
Hi Everyone, I am on 10.5 pred for 4 weeks. I am getting bilateral muscle pain in arms and legs in morning. They tend to get better about a hour after I wake with pain killers so I’m assuming they are not pmr! Any advice here please. Janet

Wandering Scot presently living in Mexico and recently diagnosed with PMR
I finally found a great doctor who actually listened to me and told me the
pain
. was not in my
head
, said it sounded like PMR or another autoimmune disease and send me for blood work. He also sent me to a rheumatologist.

thank you
He had numerous CT and other scans for his
head
and abdomen due to
pain
after eating. All came back clear and no issues, no one knows why he gets pain after he eats. He’s kept me on my toes, he was told no more scans due to radiation.

My doctor is trying to take me off cocodamol and giving me paracetamol as it’s not long term. I keep informing them that paracetamol is not going to help and I would just be in so muhc pain. What other medications do you guys use to manage flare ups. I’m currently having one can’t get out of bed I’m

Diagnostic laparoscopy on Friday
The date is getting closer but the pain is much much worse. I finally was told that I had a cyst on my left ovary a month after having my ultrasound scans, and also after being given the date for my laparoscopy. I recently had to go back to taking desogestrel as I had ran out of the new one and with

Flare probably caused by bivalent jab, ongoing side effects. Others with same experience? How long? Up the pred again?
The stiffnees is not bad, has not lessened, no
pain
but awful fatigue, dead
head
, hot flushes particularly after eating and on wakening, dry nasal passages and need to spend a lot of hours dozing. I am feeling lousy most if the time.

Maybe why we wait for a cure
I think I may have previously posted some of this story My first Neurologist was a brilliant doctor and brain surgeon and expert in the cardiovascular system. He was head of cardiology at a world class hospital and known around the world. My M.D. went to school with him and they were good friends
