This is my first post to this forum
- I usually hang out in the 5 & 10K runners forum on the Healthunlocked website I got a bit of a shock yesterday - I am quite fit for my age 71YO and a recent full blood test showed that -- except of course for my usual high cholesterol level. My cholesterol levels have always been very high but they

Zytiga Side Effects Inquiry
I'll try to keep this post short and simple: I'm trying to decide whether to push for/encourage an oncologist to add zytiga and prednisone to my Lupron. My situation is this: I'm 52 years old, athletic, diagnosed with PCx in May 2015, Gleason 4+3 and 4+4. Failed brachy/IMRT combo in late 2015, PSA

Elevated AST, ALT and cholesterol
Hello! What causes liver enzymes to change within two weeks? I had blood work on 2/12 and the AST, ALT and ALP were normal, but my LDL and thyroid were elevated. On 2/24, I repeated all labs and now my AST, ALT, LDL and HDL are elevated. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver back in November and during

Lp-Pla2 lowering through statins
If you have VERY HIGH Lp-Pla2 then statins combined with ezetimibe would seem to be the best option because they work. BUT there is the problem of side effects...other methods would appear to be very high dose Omega 3 (8 gms?) but this takes time and all the time you're walking around with very high

My partner and I have just come of Statins as we were having dreadful side effects from them, the doctor has offered us a new drug, or one that we haven’t heard of, it’s called Ezetimibe. It’s surposed to lower cholesterol but without the side effect!! They are specifically for people who get adverse
