Pleural Plaques and Coronavirus
I am a 71 year old male diagnosed via chest x-ray in 2014 with pleural plaques on my lungs due to exposure to asbestos some 40 years ago. From time to time I have severe and uncontrollable coughing episodes that can last for days. I do not have mesothelioma. I am in good health. IF I should contact Coronavirus

ILD & scleroderma
So ended up in hospital on last bank holiday Monday as my breathlessness was so bad! My BP & oxygenation were within range. Have had numerous bloods taken, chest X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound of lungs - all ok, no infections. Awaiting Bronchoscopy next week. Everything is suggesting inflammation rather

Smoking cessation - feels like a bad choice.
Hi all. I gave up smoking 52 days ago. I smiled about 15 a day for 13 years. Since I’ve given up smoking I’ve never felt worse in my life. I’ve spat blood. Had chest pain. Constant headache. Sinus issues. Stomach aches. Pain in my side. Muscle cramps. Cracking joints. High blood pressure. Cold hands

Asthma Mystery
Hi! I have been diagnosed with asthma. When I wake up in the morning my lungs ache and I feel chest constriction. The strangest thing is, as soon as I eat (doesn't matter what it is), I can breathe better. My respirologist said he has never heard of this. Could this be something like GERDS, or something

5 months post pneumonia
Hi everyone, I posted on here a while back when I was ill with severe pneumonia. I was hospitalised for a few days. Drs said they’d never seen a pneumonia showing as severe on a ct scan as they had with me. Anyway, I’m much better now. Tiredness is subsiding. However the past couple of weeks I’ve been

Phlegm- whats normal?
So I'm currently been treated for asthma, still not officially diagnosed. I've had a CT scan that suggested early bronchiectasis but I've since had 2 radiologists and my respiratory consultant disagree with this. Approx 7 weeks ago I had a bacterial chest infection (my 1st ever) that's cleared with amoxicillin

I already have really bad

and take prescribed tablets for that when the season hits, but we’re currently on lock down because of corona, and all I’ve done is walked the dog to get some exercise.

Swollen
This time last year I thought I had my Hashimoto’s under control. I had been following AIP (autoimmune protocol) for 8 months. My health was the best it had been in years (diagnosed in 2014). In July last year I noticed my abdomen had become swollen slightly. This has gradually increased and continues

Asthma or Covid-19?
Any advice last week I developed shortness of breath which lead me to Amu unit. All stats were normal, ECG was clear, chest x Ray clear, Doctor said I didn't have covid lung, bloods taken, all fine except raised d dimer (blood clot) of 538. Had ultrasound scan on left leg no clot found. Doctor said probably

Montelukast?
Hi, I posted on her a while back, my asthma symptoms had come back after having none for around 15/20 years, in the last month they have had me on two different preventers both made my symptoms worse so I stopped them. I’ve had a chest x-ray & ECG and all normal so I’m now to start Montelukast, has anyone

Methotrexate
Hi everyone. I wanted to ask if anyone who has GCA and where tapering pred has not worked, has been put on Methotrexate? I am about to go onto 7.5 mgs weekly with my 40 mgs of pred. I have read the side effects of this steroid sparing drug and just wanted to hear other’s experiences on Methotrexate.

Unsure about specialist
I had a telephone consultation 1 week ago with my CLL doctor regarding my recent blood tests. I have only previously seen her twice face to face. I was diagnosed 8th Jan this year stage A watch and wait. She said there had been no real change and she would send the results to me plus forms for next blood

Some progress, I think... ? 🤔 But having wobbles, struggling on lockdown now 🙄
Evening all, Thank you to everyone who kindly responded to my last post. A ittle update... Spoke with my GP surgery as I was feeling a little run down and struggling to sleep which was having such a negative impact on me. I thought it possibly was side effects of medication so I was changed onto something
