Been back to my local hospital today. Latest blood results -
Platelets 341
Haemoglobin 101
White cell count 5.5
RBC 3.49
Haematocrit 0.31
RDW 22.7
Results are a lot better than a few weeks ago when my platelets were over 1000.
Hg still over. 100 after being 75 - 80 for a very long time, so the Momelotinib is working on my anaemia. Only RDW that’s quite a way out from normal.
Hopefully haemoglobin will keep climbing, the hydroxy which was added in to get my platelets down is now being reduced, hopefully EPO injections will also be reduced in the near future.
I took a photo of the doctors computer screen, it didn’t show many results so I’m taking his word other counts are within normal levels.
I don’t feel as tired as when my hg was really low, I didn’t realise how tired I had been feeling until I felt better! Also everyone keeps telling me look really well. 😁
Go back in 3 weeks to see how the reduction in hydroxy has affected my results.

Great news and so glad your feeling a bit better. Its so surprising when you get a bit more energy how much better and happer you feel. Hope things keep improving and keep 😊x
Good news. How long did it take for momelotinib to affect yr Hb ? I ‘ve been on it for 6 days, no nasty side effects yet. Blood test arranged with GP, before call from Guys nurse on Christmas Eve.
Shared care took me to activate- had f2f apt with GP partner Am now in system for acquiring a local haematologist at East Surrey No apt yet
I had a blood test 3 weeks after starting it and it had already come up a bit, up a bit more after a further 3 week but it also raised my platelets to over 1000, which, apparently often happens when first starting with Momelotinib, so that’s something to look out for. Guys recommended adding hydroxy to get them down which has worked, and I’m now having that reduced, hopefully also the EPO injections I do twice a week will be reduced when my counts have settled. Hope all goes well for you.
